you're not allowed to hit Menechino in the air. Only on the ground the other way.

Sure seems like every ball hit in the air to the OF at home gets caught, and we are getting outhomered in Chicago.

Other teams understand the concept of Launch Angle, and they know that hitting the ball into the ground is a recipe for singles, double plays, and easy outs into the shift.

Our park is built for the home run as is our team, however our hitting coach has 10+ years leading the league in getting his guys to hit the ball on the ground. We have one on the highest EV in the game, and have nothing to show for it.

A team that is way too comfortable at home? Not enough focus? Better on the road, as there's more structure/routine to road games? Those splits are mind bogglingly terrible.

About to be shut out. How long do they go with Clark and Menechino?

He's gotta be gone if they still can't score in Tampa right?

It’s so easy to find replacement level production at DH and 2B.  So the theory went.

There's literally no justification for #9 being that good when your lineup as a whole has been so bad.

Stroman gave up 9 so far to the Cardinals in 3 2/3rds. He's pitching about the same as he did to the Sox, but STL is making him pay for it.

Watch this approach v stroman by Goldschmidt.......

Pretty decent pitch but we kept rolling over this same pitch....

Tell me approach doesn't matter. This is how hitting coaches make their money

Down and in is a danger zone pitch, also not many players would take that pitch opposite way with authority. That's a turn and burn pitch. Goldy is just a beast.

That said, the Sox would pound that pitch into the dirt.

Here's another meatball I think only 3 or 4 players on the Sox would hammer right now:
