I say this once a year, but it’s ridiculous baseball broadcasts don’t show where infielders are positioned for each hitter.

Maybe the manager doesn’t have them prepared to play….

Eloy is the epitome of this team's failings.  Wildly inconsistent, too often unavailable and low baseball IQ.

What is his vaccination status?

We will find out who is or who isn’t when they go to Toronto I guess.

Got out of it.  Now how about a few insurance runs?

Seriously, Sox score 6 runs?

Don't some broadcasts put the infielder positioning as part of the on screen graphics?

Burger has absolutely no shot here

Phew... Kind of thought Graveman was up shit creek there.

Can't imagine a worse on paper matchup for Burger than Houck. If he gets on-base here, I'll be very impressed.

Very few

I believe it was the ESPN broadcast recently that showed all that. I was impressed by the broadcast honestly.

Well he didn't strike out.

I forgot that Burger was the DH, wouldn't that be a spot to pinch hit Sheets?

yes, yes it would, lol. Of course Tony wouldn't be on top of that, though.

I mean, yes

What moves would you make before the 8/2 trading deadline to make this team as close to a true contender as possible?

Time for McGuire to go deep

I wonder if not showing the infielder positioning on the broadcast is because it would just give people another reason to rip the manager/team. You won't get many "good jobs" from good positioning. You will however get mercilessly ripped by fans and critics if they don't like the positioning.

Imagine if the sox had that. Tony would get ripped even harder.

I know he might bat in the 8th but I’d rather see Leury in RF next inning.

Good night at the plate for Reese

Still wouldn't. I'd start approaching pitchers with extensions and if they're not interested they go bye bye.

There are too many hitters having terrible seasons to buy at the deadline. They need to either stand pat or sell.

I’m sure Benetti didn’t mean to say “Reese touches it”

Wow a hitter went the other way.

Smart of Reese not to run on JBJ

Nice stroke from McGuire. That's not the only thing he's stroking.
