Btw, Rodon’s ERA is climbing quickly

He just cant last a full season. Just shut him down for about a month and hope he can finish down the stretch for you.

Hope you are right about the wins.  Not sure about Tony waking up, there is less oxygen in Denver and he needs more sleep.

Same pattern as last season. Fading hard in the second half.

Need at least 8 more to feel safe

Joe Kelly what a signing.

Sox biggest deadline acquisition will be calling up Mike Wright Jr.

This isn't a Carlos Rodon game thread, but he averaged 96 on his fastball tonight. He still got a ridiculous number of whiffs on it. Even aces have bad starts. There is no way to ever spin not offering him the qualifying offer or matching what the Giants gave him as a good decision.

So... Lopez must be unavailable tonight for some reason

You are right. We have  left many runs on the table tonight already.

Too many days off.

Sox offense once again giving the pitching no margin for error.

Would have preferred to sign Joc Pederson instead and for less money.  Joc took $6M for this season.

Oh great, now Eloy injured his mouth.

He had a great year in 2021.   But other than that, there may be 1 season where he had good enough numbers to be a 7th-9th inning guy.  He received quite the payday for a great 2021.

So the Rockies TV guys can't figure out why the Sox are a .500 team.

Yep people always talking about him getting injured or fading down the stretch which may or may not be true this year. But people discount how pitching well during the regular season keeps you in  games and helps you win during the season. More wins this season would be a good thing . He's still a likely 5 WAR pitcher. How many of those do we have anyway?

They must not be very well informed .

The horseshit offense is why they need another bullpen arm.

Are they saying we should be worse or better?

He of course is having a great year, but if you take a step back, Cueto has contributed as much as he would have in that spot (so far).  This isn’t excusing them from not doing the QO.

SUre but the only reason the Sox got Cueto was because Lynn got hurt. Hahn preferred VV to him and probably passed on Martin Perez too because he was $1M more than V V.
