It was a line drive that had a chance to be caught on the fly so if Zavala's 1st move isn't back towards 2nd base he get's doubled off if it's caught. No way too many catchers score on that.

That pitch should have been in the stands. But this is the White Sox, and they don't hit home runs.

It's like he wants to make up for all the times he failed in one at bat.  A hitter like Jose should know better than that.

And like you said yesterday, his teammates look up to him so he’s setting an awful example

Long inning. Let’s see if he turns into Javy Vazquez.

lol that's what Giolito starts have reminded me of recently. Even when he has starts where he's good, he'll usually have one really bad inning in there.

Small related story...I was at the Rangers game and during warm ups we saw Adolis Garcia go up to Jose, gave him the "I'm not worthy" bow, and then chatted with him, Luis and Yoan.

He is revered by all the Cuban players.

It's all in their heads at this point.

Almost the entire team is mentally broken. Speaks to the ineptitude of the organization. They're clueless. The problems are obvious to everyone, and it's been going on for over a year now... Guys keep making the same mistakes over and over and over again with no adjustments.

No doubt.  If he's pressing they're all pressing.

It's all mental at this point. They'll hit fine until they get a guy to third and then all of a sudden they just forget what plate discipline and working the count is.

Yeah the struggles with guys on 3rd and less than 2 outs aren't new. It's been a theme since the ASB last year. Before the ASB they were very good at cashing those runs in. Afterwards, they got them in like 20% of the time.

Grandal and Robert killing the ball in the 2nd half hid a lot of those issues. But now that nobody in the lineup is really carrying the team, the struggles with guys on 3rd and less than 2 outs are becoming way more evident.
