Common sense would say it’s Long. If it was Ozzie he would be hired already you would think, no sense in waiting when free agency is right around the corner and the World Series is about to kick off tomorrow.

More than a bit....liked to argue alot.  If I remember correctly people were very happy when he was no longer here....but maybe he's still lurking?

Let me say this much.

There is nothing wrong with interviewing Ozzie.  The guy's life has been baseball, and he is going to see things that the others don't, especially when it comes to the Latin kids.  The body language, culture, ways to approach them etc are things that aren't the same as American raised kids.  Bringing him in to talk about what he saw and what he would do could hold a lot of value, just like any of the guys they bring in.

But don't fucking hire the guy.  Jesus, do not hire that clown again.

Right.  The fact that they interviewed him is neither surprising nor meaningful by itself.  The guy wants the job and has been part of the organization for a long time.  It would be weird and rude if they refused to give him an interview.

Dear god, I hope you're not serious here.

IMO, I think it’s going to be either Long or Guillen. If there’s no announcement before the WS than it’s Long. 

If Guillen is the new manager than JR stepped in again and overruled the process. Would be very typical and downright ridiculous doing it a second time.

That is true, but maybe they do something with the coaching staff. The fact is, they can't win if these guys don't go back to hitting homers.

Perhaps FO cancelled SoxFest because they knew JR would overrule them again on the manager hire and just didn't want to deal with any additional fan anger.

Nah, a handful of us had heard for weeks that Tony was going to be the next manager. No one has heard anything that Ozzie will be next.

I think Omar was a joke.  He probably would have gotten the job based on his work before that all came out.

The thing that would piss me off most about Ozzie was that was an easy move to make in June on an interim basis to see how it worked out....not now

Since Ozzie appears open to accepting the position, I will be so disappointed if the Sox don't make him the manager for 2023.   This team can win with a brilliant mastermind like Ozzie calling the shots and It would be worth every penny to make him the highest paid manager in MLB.
