Has he only come out of the pen? Or has he also started? Tough to tell from that blurb.

Sounds like he has started, but has come on stronger as a reliever.

I was making fun of the blurb because it said the exact same thing in back to back sentences.

This is the type of report you like to see. Sometimes you find a diamond in the rough

Jerry? Is that you?

"What do you mean there is no more $$ to spend on relief pitchers??  Who's available in the Rule 5?"

No reason not to make this pick. The last couple spots on the staff should be open to competition, might as well pick up as many options as possible

Ideally even Diekman should be on the bubble. He has never been that good really

Sure. How do you plan to get rid of him? He's on a major league guaranteed contract. Cutting him on opening day costs $4.5 million.

Gallo is a plus defender in RF right? If so, I probably put Colas in LF.

They won't cut him, but he is tradeable.

I said ideally. Obviously the Sox won’t cut him. Dude has averaged 5+ walks per nine for six straight years. Ideally they wouldn’t have traded for him in the first place

Colas is also a plus defender in right.  Whichever way you go, you can't be wrong.  Also, I like that Oscar throws lefty. That's a sizable advantage in right.

I’m picturing Hahn with his feet up on his desk puffing on a cigar celebrating this move.

There's our off season signing

HIs delivery reminds me of Karinchak.

I like it!  I hate Hahn a little bit less now!

If you thought Hendriks might be traded picking up arms could solidify taking that position. Everyone moves up a notch. Lopez, Graveman, Bummer , Lambert then the rest. Avila,Kelly, Diekman, Ruiz. Crochet either put in the minors upon his return in August. Barring any trades of course if Hendriks goes.

As much as a lot of us hate everything the Sox do, this was a worthwhile flier for the Rule V

Too bad they cancelled Soxfest. Nick Avila and Victor Reyes could have been introduced as the big offseason acquisitions.

Yes.  He's probably better than a few already on the roster.

He is worth a chance. Wish  we had taken a couple more. Set up a competition from the beginning.  With the cost of pitching, even having to keep on a roster, league minimum arms have some value.   If they look good but you have no room, flip ‘em
