Ha. 2022 isn't the only bad year Moncada has had. 2018 and 2020 werem't so hot either. Good thing the Sox didn't give up much for Moncada in the first place I suppose.

December 12, 20223 yr Feel bad for Oakland fans. Team is going to flee the Bay Area soon and they are likely to lose 100 plus games for the next 3 or 4 years.

December 12, 20223 yr That return for the A's is not good so far. If that's it, then they got swindled.
December 12, 20223 yr I sure would have been interested at that price. Oakland must be real high on some of these guys?

I hoped/figured that with a full off season, Grandal could rehab and return to 80-90 percent and thus be worth catching 80-100 games and DH/1b 40-20 games. If we were really in on a new catcher, maybe our front office thinks Grandal may be much less available/playable? In his current medical condition and with his contract, I had considered him untradeable.
December 12, 20223 yr So the Brewers gave up a future pinch-runner and got William fucking Contreras for 5 years?! Edited December 12, 20223 yr by CWSpalehoseCWS
December 12, 20223 yr Holy robbery Batman The Brewers made out like bandits. They basically got Contreras for Ruiz. Even Baseball Trade Values wouldn't validate this trade...

Throw in the new rules and maybe they fear how much opposing teams will run on the Sox.

There has to be more to this right? How badly are teams overvaluing Ruiz when it's basically a 1 for 1 for Contreras.
