As a senior at Yale University, where he majored in molecular biophysics and biochemistry, he led the Ivy League with a 2.56 ERA. He was drafted in the 26th round by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2002, and debuted in the Major Leagues with the San Diego Padres in 2005. Breslow was called the "smartest man in baseball" by Minneapolis Star Tribune Twins beat writer La Velle E. Neal III. The Wall Street Journal reporter Jason Turbow wrote: "Judging by his résumé, Craig Breslow is the smartest man in baseball, if not the entire world."[1][2][3][4] The Sporting News named him the smartest athlete on their top-20 list, in 2010.[5] After the 2018 season, he ranked fourth of all active left-handed MLB pitchers in career appearances. He stands 6' 1," and weighs 185 lbs. Yeah, Hahn was under educated in areas that really mattered...lol. But especially biomechanics/pitching development. Or judging ANY talent that wasn't spoon fed to him by KW and/or Marco Paddy.

I think he'll do a great job and Houston will continue winning under him, though they will need to replace a bunch of guys and build rotation depth heading into 2024.

Yeah I think they get legitimately 1 more year, and then will have to do something resembling rebuilding although what that will look like will depend on whether their young pitchers can take a step forward next year.

When to trade Altuve Bregman Alvarez Tucker? They have to extend at least one of the latter two or totally rebuild around the remains of their starting rotation.

Thats why they did so in 2022 with Alvarez. https://www.mlb.com/news/yordan-alvarez-contract-extension-with-astros
February 27, 20242 yr Author Bryce Harper already wants his contract renegotiated/extended. https://sports.yahoo.com/bryce-harper-has-8-years-left-on-his-phillies-contract-so-why-does-he-want-an-extension-201603197.html Can just imagine the reaction of JR with this tactic. Boras wanted the opt out so but Harper had wanted to demonstrate his commitment to stay in Philly and helping to sign other FA's like Turner Schwarber Nola and next Wheeler again reupping.
March 5, 20242 yr Author Z.Wheeler, 3 years, $126 million extension with the Phillies, no options or opt-outs following the Bryce Harper similar commitment https://www.mlb.com/news/zack-wheeler-phillies-extension

Those AAVs around him are just the new normal for superstars, and getting him on a three year deal is chef's kiss from the club's POV.
