I just read the OP again and caught "future all star Nick Madrigal"

Is that still a thing?

God we've had a lot of douchebags over the years. I never minded Youk too much but Swisher was such a prick.

  • The thing that gets me about the list is the millions of dollars spent on them. I find it unbelievable that Hahn still has his job. Although I do believe  if this season continues to be a disaster  Ha

I wonder how much all those all suckers cost the White Sox.

Really depressing and aggravating to go down memory lane and see how many losers we actually had. Then again, look at are overall record since 2006 where we are significantly under 500 with only three playoff appearances and zero playoff wins in those 17 years.

Show me another FO combo in any sport, that was able to have this total dysfunction and number of losing seasons with no playoff wins...along with a complete botchery of draft picks, developing players, free agents signings and trades....and that combo FO over a 17 year period, was allowed to keep their job by the owner.

Unfortunately a number of those guys are KW's guys and not Hahn's.

Shields, Samardzija, Dunn, Laroche etc are all KW guys.

Shields Samardzija and Laroche were all under Hahns tenure as GM.

That means nothing as Hahn did not have any say so for a number of years and even today has no real power as everything is determined by JR and KW

Melky was a massive disappointment and clown most of his time with the Sox…KW had his equivalent in Rios.  Both talented players that underachieved compared to their AL East peaks.

What is a Hahn player, even?

Everyone has their definition for KW Paddy and TLR…but Hahn’s signings typically have the most vague, nebulous identity.

Certainly have been almost completely forgettable performance-wise.

Dunn was a Hahn too.  Hahn got the job title in 2010.  Dunn hit .150 which is deplorable.  Any big name hitter we signed has been a bust.  It's all 3 of them one guy doesn't make the decisions.  Reinsodorff don't want to pay I get that go a degree because many players are overpaid and don't try once they get paid.  There's no incentive to train or practice for the contract.   But at the same time we actually spend the money on a bunch of hot garbage instead of an impact player because we can't develop talent.  It's a big problem

There's no evidence of that. There was a bit of fan delusion under the Hahn honeymoon period where every good move was Hahn and every bad move was KW. In retrospect, it was probably all Hahn since he can't seem to make a good move at all.

That roster would challenge for the all time loss record.

That is some list. Just shows how incompetent, dysfunctional and inept this organization is.

He also was terrible defensively when he was with the Sox as in passed balls, percentage of runners caught stealing, framing etc.

David Wells enters the thread.

The only White Sox player I ever booed, when I thought he was drunk puking from our far upper deck seats and pulled in the first inning. Sox ended up coming back and beating the Cubs.

I guess we need another list for Kenny, ha-ha

Head to head matchup, please.
Computer simulated 7 game series would be tops.

99.9999%. Its been stated numerous times over the last decade that Hahn only recently got more say so but even now has to have unanimous approval from KW and JR.  Meaning he has virtually no GM powers that the other 29 GMs have

Alex Rios was anything but a clown. You may not have liked him or how he was acquired, but he put up 3 and 4 war seasons.

It’s truly amazing how Hahn has convinced so many Sox fans that he has no say in things.

Braves know a little something about talent development.

Might never end...each bullpen would keep blowing leads...although maybe not with the offenses they put together ?

Flowers was awful on the Sox but flourished on the braves.  If we develop them they flourish elsewhere.  If we trade for them or sign them their careers die here

Rios was always a me first player... maybe not clownish but he was pushed out in Toronto and it wasn't by accident. Ozzie even struggled to get the most out of him.

Rios was OK but nothing special.   He wasn't a top 3 superstar you build around.  Sadly better than anything we've had out there in 8 years.  It was actually a decent move because we didn't lose any prospects nor did we overpay long term.  And we got Leury for him!  A guy we are paying 8 million dollars to sit at home for 2 years

He did everything so easily and was so naturally gifted everyone perceived him as loafing... so a  bit similar to Moncada there.  Certainly didn't seem to play with a sense of joy and exuberance.  Pretty moody.

I don't think SHields is a KW guy. Hahn took the blame for trading Tatis. So if you are wrong about that one ....
