Considering his total tenure as GM/Director of Operations, the only thing that makes sense is that he was on a 2 year LSD trip, from 2003-05, was completely out of his head, reached the heights, after which he crashed hard, took the franchise down with him in the process, and from which neither party has recovered or will recover.

Lol.

2006-2012 were very solid/competitive seasons compared to what came after.

7-20 now. That’s a month of games. On pace for 42-120. It’s probably going to be 6 to 9 wins per 27 all season. 45 wins sounds about right.

Ah..............but wait till the trade dead(again)line.  Brenetindi will be traded, Robert probably will too.  Not sure how CF will turn out.   All for lottery chances for a team that still can't draft/develop position players. He maybe they'll get a decent pitching prospect to eventually flip for more failed position players.

Waiting another 2 to 2 1/2 seasons on Braden Montgomery unless they really rush him.

And he's ideally suited for RF, not center.

I've already been drawn and quartered...pilloried...tarred and feathered for not noticing the JR FCC Showdown by KyLe.

At least there's something to keep the mods occupied besides the NFL Draft and NBA playoffs.

White Sox now 28th in runs scored yay!!!   We're barely ahead of the Rangers and Royals.

I agree with everything else, but “pilloried”?  I draw the line there

At least until Thome vs. Kotsay vs rotating DH debates of late 2000s w Ozzie leading into the 2010 season when Thome joined Twins and beat up Thornton.

Of course Thome put up 12.1 WAR with the White Sox from 2006-2009 (3.5 seasons).  Rowand, who was down to about 100 games in 2010-2011, put up a 8.1 WAR from 2006-2009 (six seasons).  Rowand had a whopping 1.1 WAR in the two remaining seasons he played after Thome departed the White Sox.

I'm actually more upset how that 2010 season played out...looking back on it now.

We took for granted being in division races pretty much every 2 out of 3 seasons or so.

Considering that Roberts is negative WAR with a .542 OPS one sixth of the way through the season trading him may be addition by subtraction.

I'm more upset about 2011.

Opening day Dunn hit a home run and had a big game and my dad was pretty happy and we were looking forward to a fun season.  He died the next day.  I guess I'm glad he saw the high point.  They were still in it late in the season.  I'm not sure Ozzie didn't throw the season.  I remember him pinch hitting Dunn, a guy batting like .160, in an important game against the Tigers.  Everyone knew having the bat boy pinch hit would have been a better option.  Dunn whiffed on three pitches.

(To his credit he didn't quit and had a decent rebound season in 2012 and was even an all star.)

Honestly think Baldwin might be able to handle it if he focused only on that CF position 100%...48th in mlb sprint speed, Robert is up to 35th

The fact that Elko is still in Triple A and Vaughn is still on the big league team is enough to fire Getz.   Close to 60 years of watching baseball I’ve never seen anything like this!!    Vaughn has No business being on the team!!

Meidroth, Quero, Baldwin, Shane Smith, Davis Martin And Cannon are on the team now. Elko should be up this year. Teel, Braden Montgomery, Noah Schultz, Hagen Smith and Grant Taylor will probably be on the team next year. It looks to me  that the team  will start to be alot better next year.

“a lot better” is some wild optimism.

I would bet now that they lose 100 games next year too.  Maybe a ten game improvement.

White Sox ahead of 6 teams (see you Balt) and tied with another for RS/RA differential.

Unfortunately this year just bad enough to lose a lot of pretty close/competitive games due to bullpen RISP and general lack of Xb pop.
