The Senators had an excuse, they were an expansion team but still weren’t as bad as the 2024 Sox. The original Senators moved to Minnesota in 1961 and became the Twins. The expansion Senators moved to Texas in 1971 and became the Rangers.

In hindsight this team would look a lot better now with Luis Robert than Acuna. So that trade, in itself, is a fire-able offense not only because it hasn't worked out, but because Getz did not conduct some basic due diligence (switch-hitter?) about the player that was coming back. Dude can't field any position on the field adequately.

The fact that Robert currently has 10 walks (none intentional) and only 9 strikeouts in 46 plate appearances is crazy.

First team to 10 losses in baseball.

On pace for a 54-108 record.

He trained throughout the offseason using the latest pitching machine 'Trakjet Machine,' (company based in Ontario) which is now quite popular in Major League Baseball (Nats were last to add, but now have three), and it was revealed that he only set it to Paul Skenes, last year's National League Cy Young Award winner (Pittsburgh Pirates), and saw positive effects from practicing against it.

I know he didn't deserve the job in the first place, but I really don't think it's unfair to say that Acuña needs to at least be a real major leaguer for Getz to deserve to keep his job

The "switch hitter" debacle is so embarrassing. To say that not once, not twice, not thrice, but four times makes it clear that he truly didn't know a pretty significant detail about the player he acquired. And that player has been nothing short of awful to boot

I could live with the defensive lapses as he has played more infield in his career and is still learning CF. But if he can’t hit better than he has thus far with the Mets and Sox, he’s a utility guy at best like a Leury Garcia.

Who the Sox got out the Luis Robert trade got both saves in the two wins in KC. To say the Sox only got Acuna is an example of classic card stacking propaganda: Your only present half the facts because when all facts are considered, your argument falls apart.

Plus, once he learns the position, say by July, Acuna could very well be looking better than Robert on the IL. A very real possibility and Sox will still have Dominguez saving games.
