The Padres had the 30th rated farm system and still managed to improve their team...ofc part of that was Tatis and Machado playing much better.

Now one GB the vaunted Cubs.

Could have easily sold off Miller King Morejon and even Salas.

White Sox were roughly around #13-16 system.

Nope.

The AL Central has been hiding or let's just say masking the true weaknesses of those five teams for most of the season.

But now the pen is hiring after getting overused all season long.

Three players look beyond help until the offseason.

And it still ALMOST worked if Grant Taylor executed a better pitch vs. Rocchio.

One thing is 100% true, Castillo and Brazoban actively hurt the team's chances of holding things together and dragging over the finish line into postseason play.

Soxtalk is going to burn tonight.

You can't build your franchise's foundation around two players leading the majors in K rate unless they're going to slug 900+ like a Schwarber.

You also can't have one of the worst trade deadlines in recent history.

Doyle might still be okay, but Castillo put pressure on the entire pitching staff until it crumbled this week.

And now they have pretty much zero financial flexibility (thanks to Castillo) in a FA market where all the the Top Ten guys have underachieved except for Skubal and King.

Even if he had put up his Seattle numbers he could have burned some innings. Instead he hides in the dugout for millions of dollars.

This organization has definitely take some big steps forward this year after the last three seasons. But, at the end of the day, it's still a 2nd rate organization where people who have questionable qualifications get put into key leadership positions. Unfortunately, this isn't going to change until at least when Jerry Reinsdorf is no longer in control of this franchise.

Getz was around for James Shields, you'd think he'd remember how that went based on what Shields was doing that year for San Diego.

I have officially decided that Getz should be fired. His deadline reeks of either stupidity or arrogance and either way it should not be tolerated. How the f*** did we blow a 6 run lead tonight and somehow use 7 pitchers, none of whom were deadline additions. Honestly, it speaks volume to how bad of a job Getz did at the deadline. Chris should be charged with negligence for failing us so epically these last two months.
