Tough guy Pritzker playing hardball but him and his cronnies will be in a Suite on the 50 Yard Line the first game there acting like a hero.

Given the political climate and the resentment of the average citizen over a number of things today, unless the Bears can somehow (along with the White Sox) bridge a very sizable divide, I simply can not see the public going along with this.

Politicians are concerned about one thing only, their asses, they want to get reelected. If the public backlash is strong enough they simply will not agree to giving the teams basically a blank check.

Time for the governor of Indiana to step up.

The Jacksonville Jaguars' "Stadium of the Future" is a go, as the franchise and city came to an agreement on a $1.4 billion project on Tuesday. The proposal will see each side contribute $625 million to the project and Jacksonville would chip in another $150 million to get EverBank Stadium ready for construction beginning in 2026. The team will also not include any new taxes to pay for the rebuild.

Now that the plan was presented to a city council on Tuesday, members are slated to vote on it in June with a majority of 19 members needed to pass. Then, it would advance to the NFL owners meeting in October where they'd need 24 of 32 votes to reach final approval.

With construction set to begin after the 2025 season, the Jaguars would play in front of a reduced capacity crowd in 2026 and then host home games in either Gainesville or Orlando in 2027.

The updated look of EverBank Stadium was revealed last summer, representing the next step in the team's efforts to transform downtown Jacksonville. The Jaguars plan to make the stadium four times as wide as the current one with interactive social areas and food local to the city. The stadium will include state of the art technology and a shade canopy to reduce heat retention by 70%.

Why was AEW's Tony Khan wearing a neck brace during the 2024 NFL Draft? (jacksonville.com)

The son of the Jaguars owner is a hoot, he did an interview the next day and kept promoting his wrestling company.  Tony Khan needs to get a few billion from his dad and buy the White Sox.🙂

He’s a wacky dude.  He was always trying to call out Vince McMahon and the WWE in the past, even though their ratings destroy his for AEW.

No thanks.

He is running AEW to the ground.

Here is what I would like to see happen. Reinsdorf moves the ML & all the Minor League teams and personnel to Nashville and renames the ML team.

The Chicago White Sox name and franchise history stays in Chicago with the new expansion owner of the club. It would be similar to what the Cleveland Browns did.

An expansion team will not happen

Cleveland kept the name and the history of the Browns. I think it was the only bright spot for their fans after getting shafted by Modell.

If the 1 in a million really did happen and the White Sox left Chicago, making them leave behind the name and history makes sense because teams will be fist fighting to get into Chicago for a chance at that market.  Whether it is expansion or move, it would happen and happen quickly.
