How has Andrew Vaughn escaped trade speculation ?

Featured Replies

Probably because no team has any interest in this guy but maybe he should be dangled out on the trade market by Getz given his emphasis on speed and defense. Vaughn clogging up the bases with a single or getting tagged out trying to stretch a base hit into a double makes no sense with the new Go-Go Sox. Vaughn has alligator arms at 1B and very little range on defense. He doesn't make sense as a DH because of his splits and again, his lack of speed on the bases.  The Cubs among other teams might be interested.

Why would the Sox dump their young and cheap first round pick and who would they start at first base instead?

Because his offensive upside is worth far more to the Sox than whatever he’d return via trade. It’s really that simple. AV is the exact type of guy the Sox should be giving plate appearances to in a lost season because if he turns in a  .280/.340/.460 type season (which I would imagine he’s capable of), he’s a pretty decent piece for 25-26.

The Cubs are starting Michael Busch at 1B.

Also, why are you expecting a first baseman to be a fast baserunner?

He has a smaller salary than Nicky Lopez.  Chances are much higher that the Sox look to move Eloy if he has a good first half and can actually stay healthy.

He sucks. That’s how.

White Sox still trying to set a record for lowest ROI on three Top 5 picks in Madrigal Vaughn and Rodon.

By sucking?

Perhaps because he is one of the few White Sox who gave a s%*# the past two seasons and earns just over the ML minimum salary.

Meanwhile, nobody wants this guy even for a low A scrub.

What does Tray hate more: Andrew Vaughn or a South Loop stadium?

I think Madrigal's top 5 in MLB WAR for that 1st round. He's certainly logged more bWAR than the 3 guys chosen before him.

Andrew Vaughn starting the first game at the new South Loop Stadium.

How has Andrew Vaughn escaped trade speculation?  Because no one in their right mind gives anything of value for a light hitting below average RH 1B?

Yeah and Kolek/Aiken taken before Rodon the same.

That said...speaking of first rounders, till struggling to embrace the Burger trade months later.

Right after the announcement that Eloy was removed from the starting lineup due to a trade.

Due to straining facial muscles saying "Hi Mom!" to the camera.

He'll be traded the day the Sox announce their brand new stadium that everyone will be overjoyed about in the South Loop. Happy?

So does Nicky Lopez.  He still sucks though.

At least he put up a 6 fWAR season in his career.

Having this much disdain for a player is unhealthy.

@tray will be tailgating by himself at Guaranteed Rate Field, wondering where everyone is.
