Johnson should be there in the 2nd round. Henderson and Judkins should be available in the 3rd. Unless the combine really changes perception on those backs, the Bears should be able to grab 1 of them.

I would take Henderson on breakaway speed...but tOSU seemed to favor Judkins more in "must have/do or die" situations.

Johnson just has that elite combination of size speed and YAC.  He still succeeded despite being 75% of defensive focus.

The problem is that Seattle is offering him play calling duties. He'd really only get a promotion in name if he came to the Bears as OC.

We don’t really know what he wants. I assume he wants to call plays, but maybe he doesn’t? He also has to consider fit and what he sees as higher success rate. If he is a firm believer in Johnson and what the Bears will be, and he isn’t as high on Geno/Seattle, maybe he picks the Bears. Also, the ultimate variable of money.

Sign Hank Fraley to put the cherry on top.

Brad Biggs has already reported Fraley isn't coming here.

Alright, I'm out on Johnson. f*** that guy 😂

Johnson is doing Campbell a solid and not offering him the job (per Johnson) and raiding his staff.  My guess is he would be elevated to OC in Detroit but maybe not.

He won  the press conference and that is important as he needs to win and control the room.

I think it was what you said - now if he gets an offer from Seattle than maybe Johnson than has go ahead to also make an offer.

I hate post coach hire when a lot of assistant rumors get out and people start hyping them. And they almost never happen.

Rizzi not happening, we’re keeping Hightower (fine I guess). Lions OL coach not happening. I sure hope we hear DA is done soon …but that’s not done

Excuse me, being poured on with cold water is scheduled for next week

Yeah - I think we have to balance the early components - lets see what ends up happening.

At this point I'm just happy Ben is here and Morgan is gone.

I don’t even know that it’s bad, I just hate all the aggregators that put together any rumor and go “Wow what a staff!” Like just chill

I know Parkins doesn’t have many fans around these parts but he has a few interview clips up on his IG interviewing Ben Johnson today.  It’s not earth shattering stuff but it’s fun

The Ben Johnson is a Marc Trestman type rumors have aged poorly.  You can tell that this dude isn’t one who will cower to his players.

All of his former players love that guy.  St Brown sounded legit sad when it was announced and he was doing his podcast with his brother

Yeah, and with the media landscape today (that has changed A LOT in the last five years or so) we would have a pretty good idea if his reputation is inflated. When Waldron was hired, you had Seattle players going on podcasts saying "Yeah, good luck with that Chicago..."

That clearly hasn't been the case with Johnson

I think your right. Winning always helps.

Carroll to Raiders

In one division, the NFL coaches are Reid, Harbaugh, Payton, and Carroll. The only one without a Super Bowl win is Harbaugh.

Good hire - he can build a foundation

Starting to make some coaching hires. Randle El hire is great. And they must know who their DC is going to be if they are hiring a defensive pass game coordinator.
