We don't have patience for a grow with the team. If the next guy lasts two years he's doing well.

He'll grow with the team

They have over 20 managerial candidates lined up to be interviewed so I'm sure there's more than a few who are on that list.  I would love to see Sal Fasano get an interview.  One of the nicest and smartest baseball guys I've ever talked to.

There might be more after the postseason.

I do.  The expectations wont be high.  The managerial change for the 2024 Cubs expectations didn't work

Bob thinks Carlos Beltran is a good fit for the Sox.   I think there a better fit out there, Bob and I hope they find him.

Former catcher is always a plus in my book for no good reason. He's 53 years old so a few years as manager and enjoy his retirement.

Rodney Linares is a name that fits somewhere in between up-and-comer and coaching staff lifer that I like. Son of a former player and coach that started out with the Astro’s as an instructor at the age of 21.

Has been with 2 stellar organizations in the Astros and Rays in a variety of ways from Minor league Manager, 3rd base coach, and bench coach. Also managed the DR in the WBC.

I quit expecting consistency and common sense about the time we quit interviewing for high level jobs.

Or that was the built-in excuse because it was always gonna be Tony?

Most likely.

There lies the problem. Tony looking over a manager's shoulder.

That wouldn't bother me.  Players played up to their abilities and that's all any manager can do.

It would be so Sox that hire the guy who was making $15/hour just last year.

If Getz stays in the role of GM, I want him to make the selection without Tony & Jerry butting in.

Buck Showalter or Terry Francona are older and have health issues but if they could come in and be a bridge to a guy like Grady Sizemore or Santos/Leyland I would be onboard.

Grady has a lot of potential he just needs experience.

Yes it would be very WS.  However, it shows Grady has a love of the game that I admire.

Pay Francona what he wants and hopefully he hands it off to Sizemore or Santos.

I bet JR didn’t really care about the scandal. He was hell bent on hiring his old buddy to reap the benefits of Rick Renteria’s hard work. Rick worked through the rebuild and got the boys ready for the playoffs so he should have been allowed to finish the job. TLR wouldn’t manage a rebuilding team.

I’d like Don Mattingly around Colson Montgomery, but who knows what they’re looking for. Probably going to suck no matter what.

I like Sizemore, but no.  But we could do worse.

Mattingly is a little to retreadish for my tastes.

I like the Dodgers guy.
