"Pete Alonso re-signs with Mets on two-year, $54 million contract to run it back in Queens...$10 million?signing bonus." nypost.com White Sox could have had him for $20 million with no Vaughn...minus not fitting the timeline at all lol. Assuming Robert is gone one way or another, the only thing on the White Sox’s 2026 payroll is Benintendi. Even the only arb eligible guys look likely gone. At that point Hahn’s suckups told us he was going to get this done. Getz suckups are now going “a payroll above $60 million? That’s unpossible.”

I would have no interest in this contract. Hes not there long enough to be on their next actual decent team, he’s not likely to bring a big trade return. I don’t want to waste money stupidly, that’s Hahn classic. Save the money there, use it when a good fitting player comes up.

WhiteSox2023
Pham must have a great agent… Per The Athletic’s Katie Woo, the Pirates have signed OF Tommy Pham to a one-year, $4 million contract. The contract is a major-league deal, with an additional $250,000 in incentives.

Pirates just passed $90 million in 2025 payroll. Edited February 6 by caulfield12

WestEddy
The Chicago White Sox are considering moving Oscar Colas to first base in 2025, per sources. This could significantly improve his odds of making the Opening Day roster. — Francys Romero (@francysromeroFR) February 7, 2025

Colas could have been learning to play 1B all of last season considering it was obvious Getz didn’t want to call him up for the outfield.
