Just stop, please.

You can't be a fan of acquiring Joey Gallo and some of these other old guys from other teams can you? My point is the only thing that matters are the young pitchers and a few position players that aren't ready. So in the interim it's obvious the Sox are bringing in a bunch of old lousy hitters. Michael Taylor? Cmon. Austin Slater, Mike Tauchman, DeLoach. Give me Anderson and Abreu and some other former Sox mediocres hanging around other teams.

Come back in like 5  years then, because it isn't going to be any time soon.

Our luck to be fans of a team that think rebuilding/reloading is sexy. I for one don't like writing off seasons and seeing the months of the calendar fly by. I live for the present, baby.

I like your posts 2023. But my point is if you have veteran placeholders make 'em former Sox players/pitchers. Nobody cares about somebody else's oldies making outs for our team. Did anybody pick up that guy who played OF for us last year, I forget his name.  He went to the Cardinals then went 3-for-3 in one of the playoff games I attended in KC last October.

If you are talking about Pham he signed with Pittsburgh.

"Best" hitters remaining on the market:

JD Martinez and Justin Turner (40)...and then there were ten, eleven if you count Andrew Vaughn.

We can probably add Brendan Rodgers ex Rockies SS to get a "Dirty Dozen."  Preferred him to Rojas...tbh.

"Mark Canha, Yuli Gurriel, Miguel Sanó, Anthony Rizzo, Rowdy Tellez and others are also on the market with limited earning power.

On the trade market, Spencer Torkelson doesn’t have an amazing path to playing time in Detroit and is still in his pre-arbitration years. LaMonte Wade Jr. is only making $5MM this year and could perhaps be pried away from the Giants. Starling Marte is going to make $19.5MM this year but the Mets are reportedly willing to pay down his salary in order to facilitate a deal."

LMAO.  Expert trolling.  No one things rebuilding is sexy.  That's a total lie.  When you have a 56, and then 41 win season in succession, you don't have a season to be competitive with anyway, and it would take billions and billions of dollars worth of free agents to change that.

Looks like Lenyn played 17 games at SS in Winter Ball but I can't see how he is an option to be even a backup.

Just seems like they should have signed a backup infielder who primarily can play SS rather than Rojas who's main positions are the 2 IF spots we have enough candidates for.

The guys they brought in are better than Anderson and Abreu.

Sosa making the team and not then playing everyday with his roster situation makes zero sense...but it's the White Sox.

Th reading the needle between development and avoiding historical losses again...they might be more concerned with win totals than positioning for the #1 pick, which is beyond idiotic.

I'm not even saying he would be a bench player. I'm saying he would be the backup SS., but start at 2B. That doesn't mean I'm saying he just sits on the bench, Mr AI Bot caulfield.

As a long time Sox fan I can't believe you are serious with these ideas.

Anderson is DONE, finished. Plus the fan base has turned against him 9with good reason in my opinion), Jose is DONE he was a disaster in his time with Houston and who knows how old he actually is.

Not saying the stiffs and retreads the Sox have now are any better but there may be a possibility of getting something for them down the line however slight. Anderson and Jose won't get you a bag of balls.

This is the formula practiced by the small market habitual losing teams.  They stay that way ignoring their weakness at drafting and developing or unwilling to spend any money.  The Sox are guilty on both accounts.

greg, you say some awesome s%*#. I don’t agree with many of the remarks, including this one, but keep up the good work. I think your perspective is an aged one. I think older fans are less keen on “writing off seasons” so to speak. I think you have to write off a season to produce success. Maybe I’m wrong. I wish the bulls would rebuild.

The Bulls are in even worse shape than the Sox since JR has told his family to keep then and sell the Sox when he is gone.

New ownership could change the fortune of the Sox franchise at least.

Meanwhile another Reinsdorf will be running the Bulls.

I don't troll. Like or hate me I write how I feel as a life long Sox fan, a formerly proud Sox fan. The Sox have changed me for the worst. Ask fathom or caulfield how mad I'd get on here when our Sox lost to KC or the Cubs. Bitter anger.
