If you ARE going to have games in the midwest in March/April, none of them should be night games until at least like April 15th or so.

  • Let's continue making the Twinkies suck it.

Shane Smith could be a thing. How did the Brewers let him go? Isn't their current pitching staff in shambles?

Big time

Main exports — coffee and coke.

Which is why the locals usually end up drinking the worst coffee.

Smith didn’t throw a single fastball that inning.

Armenia? Bogota? Medellin?

Stay away from those Medellin girls lol.  Lots of gringos/Americanos have been targeted the past year for robberies and worse.

I'm outside manizalles. Technically "glamping" though since my wife wouldn't go all in on tent and hiking

Colombia as safe as most any large US city - at least medillin and manizalles are. Some areas i won't go right now, but those are few and far between. Colombia still struggling from an old reputation from 30 years ago.

lubob not wanting to be shown up...

Who the hell is this Nick Maton?

I am watching the Chicago White Sox correct? Nice to see

Yeah, that does make it a bit more ironic.  They signed Quintana late in the offseason and had to option him to the minors to get innings.

Better lineup but this Maton at DH gimmick is pretty sad.

Don’t you bash Nick Maton ever again!

I thought he was watching his newborn just yesterday, hopefully not mountain climbing with him…lol

Lol they're with the MIL and aunt in the city. Parents night.

It's stupid early and the offense is largely going to be brutal, but man this team seems night and day different from last season.

man, all the smiles in the dugout seem so weird. im not used to it

What you're in South America camping watching the game? That's quite the parental leave.

We're in colombia for two weeks visiting the wife's family. A great start to parental leave AND a white sox mlb record to boot?!?!?

AV blows. Bench.

Maton the newest folk hero

Spring training at bats do matter.  Sometimes.

is the hitting coach actually doing something? "hardest hit ball" of Maton's career supposedly. someone else on this board was speculating that the launch angles look better.

certainly the last hitting guy is on record saying "we don't do anything unless the player asks us to" so maybe just doing something is better than nothing.

I don’t know if it’ll be “brutal.” They get a lot of traffic on the bases and that’ll get better with Tauchman. Won’t be great, but it’ll be okay.

Salento is the inspiration for the movie Encanto.

North of Armenia/Quindio...you can rent horses for a very low price and ride them all day where you want and as fast as you want.

Manizales is nice cool crisp weather.

I didn't need a heater and just sometimes air conditioning in Armenia. Manizales a bit more hilly/mountainous.
