He got a bad jump

He got a decent jump, problem was he thought it might be caught so he stopped took a step back towards 2nd then saw it drop. It wasn't great base running he could've been 15 ft down the line towards 3rd and still not been doubled off 2nd if it was caught. He just misread the trajectory of the hit by Maton or got deked by the OFer. A lot of guys with his speed would've scored easily even as hard as that was hit. It wasn't directly at the fielder. It almost got by him .

lol I guess if you add the “got to the majors so quickly and put up a roughly zero WAR over 5 years” qualifier, you may have a point.

otherwise, there’s like 25-30 3rd overall picks alone that have lower career bWAR.

Dude, the guy blows and will likely be non-tendered by the Sox after this season.  Is this truly the bum player that you want to waste your time defending?

And very often to positional picks by the White Sox in any early round of the draft.

I’d guess something like 30-40% of top 1-5 picks have less than 1 career WAR.

But anyways, why let stats get in the way of hyperbole. Enjoy the game, fellas. They’ll probably lose and who gives a s%*#.

Keep wondering why other teams have homegrown hitters worth a damn but the Sox don’t.

Maybe watch the new Red Sox 8 part Netflix special...drafting Kristian Campbell in the fourth round certainly helps.
