He's probably not wrong. But I don't think we needed Lance Lynn to know this org is well behind the times.

Funny how many times I have been told there is nothing wrong in the areas that Lynn spoke of.

I’m sure he’s right, but the team could have benefitted from Lance being way behind everyone else in the buffet line.

And his comments track with multiple other comments that have been made by other players over the last few years. This organization has not shown any interest in keeping up with where the sport and their competition, and IMO Lynn and others have zero obligation to “cover” for this organization. He was asked a question and answered it. Good for him.

Also the "it's a business" stuff goes both ways - yes, he signed an extension and stayed here ... because we gave him money. I've also worked for a job that sucked but paid me. He made the decision to stay because it's a job and they gave him an opportunity to make more money.

He did what he did, and he said what he said. I don't fault him.

He may be right, he just sounds like a spurned ex-girlfriend. Get over it, Lance. Some people have the mind to shut up about it when asked (Giolito). Don't hear Cease running his mouth either. It would be more meaningful if players who were still any good were talking.

There are two ways for this ship to turn around:

1) JR dies

2) JR is publicly shamed into changing by having former players continue to speak out.

I would rather not have to rely on death as a beacon of hope, just as far as my personal morality is concerned.

Well, it comes down to who you believe — Lynn or Getz’s #1 fan.

I'm reserving judgement until I hear what David Wells has to say.

Pass the beer

Can someone with SoxTalk please attempt to interview Clevinger or contact him through social media...maybe he will say something publicly that gets him kicked off the team?

sox may be way beyond everyone but our Board of Directors has some really nice hot young items sitting on it. Lee Stern, few people realize, looks almost exactly like Sydney Sweeney

Who could drink more beer, David Wells or Rod Beck?

Yet Lance had no issue cashing the checks on the 15th and 30th. Signed an extension to boot. Never was in shape for one start in a Sox uniform. You were stealing last year of deal, getting smoked about every start.

This guy is a buffoon. He acts like he wasn't part of the problem. Very funny when Stone made fun of his weight.

He may be a buffoon, but that doesn't mean that what he said isn't true!

Probably because he knew the Whites Sox would let him get away with such behaviour.

Yes, he was a part of the problem but as far as the White Sox being behind other organizations, he is spot on, this is the most dysfunctional organization in professional sports and it all starts with the stubborn POS owner.

I guess my issue is if you are going to talk about it now and kick a dead horse while its down, why the f*** didn't you say anything when you were with the team and try to get it fixed to help you win?

How does it work for you, or anyone, if you publicly bad mouth your current employer?  This is classic don’t shoot the messenger stuff.

Do you have a issue with hypocrisy?  Because I do. Lynn can't, years after the fact, come on and complain about the management problems and imply that he cared about winning when he was with the Sox; when it is absolutely clear that he didn't care about winning at all.

Lynn knew, KNEW that if he lost weight, he would be a better pitcher and help his team win (teams, both the Sox and the Dodgers). But he did nothing to lose that weight and just joked about it when asked by the press.

He certainly was thankful for Sox management when they silenced/ shamed Steve Stone because Stone said that Lynn would have better stamina or something like go longer in the game or whatever. I remember that Stone was silenced and (I think) halfway apoligized, even though Stone was 100% corrrect, and he was being kind the way he said it.

This coming out of Lynn's mouth, however valid, is total BS and just another example of his weakness of character.

Today or back then? I think Rod Beck passed away a few years ago so if it’s today, David Wells.

Who would you rather bunt on, Bartolo Colon or David Wells?

I remember Wells threw out his back against the Cubs one game when they bunted on him and I believe that’s the same game Carlos Lee hit a grand slam to win it in extras. I can’t remember if Colon fielded his position well or not.

I seem to remember Big Sexy being pretty agile out there.

Not the same. Most of us are at will employees and can get fired for any reason. If I had a contract or you had a contract worth 8 figures, you would definitely be able to speak up. Also, Lynn saw the conditions, yet signed an extension.  Everything he said is probably true, but at this point, why say it?

I assume you're referring to me. I've never said the organization was peachy when KW/Hahn were in charge. Weird how, once the ex-director of development is put in charge, he starts making the changes that were needed. Almost like he wanted to all along, but couldn't. I'd actually like to see any evidence that KW/Hahn were begging Getz to upgrade areas of development, and he didn't, in a craven move to get his bosses fired and for him to take over leadership.
