Jerry is not taking a $20 million dollar gamble that Robert will rebound in 2026, even if it may be the right strategy if the current trade offers for Robert are weak. It simply isn’t happening. Robert is gone one way or another. The Sox payroll is at what right now — around $80 million? So Jerry is going to pay one player 25% of the entire current payroll next year?
