Anyone who thinks Tony LaRussa brought anything positive to this organization this time around is truly derranged.

  • I may be in the minority but I have no issue with them keeping Luis. They have nothing committed to payroll next year and no one knocking at the door to be an every day CFer. Also, I would consider ke

  • Oh no. Chris Getz maybe asked for a desirable target in trade negotiations. It's truly unfortunate dialogue ends completely after one player is inquired about.

Luis not in the lineup tonight. 🤔

My favorite part is when we start seeing who isn't in the minor league line ups of key teams.

Venable's competence will be highly questioned if he's just deciding to rest him today with Luis red hot and the Sox on a roll.

No one has made a joke about him being injured yet? For shame.

Heyman said Padres might be the leaders, if Twitter is to be believed

That's not a good sign...their prospect pool is not great in terms of fits (De Vries and a few others I'm sure are off the table).

I'd much rather have PHI or NYM be the leaders.

And our transactions with Preller have been... suboptimal.

Heard there’s no trade. Whatever that means.

I kinda figured had more to do with the weather in Tampa and the pitcher.

Thinking of the upcoming hugwatch we will have going on led me to the memory of people expecting the imminent trade of Chris Sale because he was pulled from his start and then it ended up that he had taken scissors to his jersey....that was next level nuts there.

Keep his confidence high instead of playing him against a tough righty.

Chris has matured quite a bit. He did an interview on Mookie's podcast and the redneck kid from South Florida is pretty much out of him.

Ah, maturity is a wonderful thing. My better half hopes that I achieve it one day. I wonder if I should get back to work?

Hell  as often as he is hurt, giving him time off is a pretty damned good idea.

Can always pinch hit in a tight game or defensive replacement for an inning or 2 late in the game. I wonder if Venable would risk his 8 game hitting streak on one AB ? An intact hitting streak is good optics.

24. Luis Robert Jr., OF, Chicago White Sox

Chance of trade: 50%

Robert has been extremely unlucky with ball-in-play results this season, but that has begun to turn around recently. He remains a strong defender and baserunner, with a career-high 24 steals already. But the .201/.289/.342 line is unsightly, and his trade value has cratered over the past two seasons. He has a pair of $20 million-a-year club options that an acquiring team would be hesitant to exercise absent a turnaround. Finding a match with a team willing to give up more for Robert's upside rather than his productivity could be challenging.

Best fits: San Diego, Philadelphia, New York Mets, San Francisco

Houser 32nd

Notice Soroka and Moncada at very back end of rankings...

Looks like Kwan Lugo Bubic Duran Jax all going will further weaken AL Central...

If  all we get are offers worthy of, say, a .200 hitter, then why not?

Because JR isn't going to pay 20 million for a 200 hitter when the whole budget is likely to be at or south of 100m.

Why is this so difficult to understand?  Jerry is not taking a $20 million dollar gamble that Robert will rebound in 2026, even if it may be the right strategy if the current trade offers for Robert are weak.  It simply isn’t happening.  Robert is gone one way or another.

The Sox payroll is at what right now — around $80 million?  So Jerry is going to pay one player 25% of the entire current payroll next year?  I think not…

With Robert having two $20M options (i think), the Sox having ridiculously low payroll obligations, and Ishbia money coming in soon, is there a scenario where the Sox pick up his first option before a trade, then throw in the money to essentially turn it into a cheap 1-year deal with an option for the receiving team?

Getz will likely burn $20M filling out the roster with garbage, and not spending $20M on a single player will no doubt keep the boss happy.

So hope he continues playing well for the remainder of the season, pick up the option, throw in $10 million to the team you trade him to, and then that team gets Robert on a 1 year, $10M deal with an option for the next year?

I think he means pick up the option now, still trade him but also include to pay down the salary for next year so a team gets him cheap for rest of this year, cheap in 2026, and a team option for 2027.
