May 3, 2025May 3 What we’ve seen from Quero isn’t the whole story. He’s got some pop. I expect 15-20 HR out of him once he settles in.
May 3, 2025May 3 @Chicago White Sox was right on Meidroth. He has maintained incredible OBP and according to FG, defense is good too at 2B. Dude has 0.4 fWAR in only 11 games which is absolutely insane for someone with no power. If he can stay healthy, even if he doesn't keep up that pace, he could still easily put up somewhere around a 3 WAR season. It's been forever since we had that kind of production at 2B.
May 3, 2025May 3 Saw stat that he has yet to swing at a pitch outside the zone. Like speed, you can't teach that.

May 11, 2025May 11 I doubt Smith will be allowed to pitch enough innings to win the ROY. His IP the last 2+ years: 2023 59.2 IP 2024 94.1 IP 2025 43.1 IP Just a guess on my part but I think he will throw @ 140 IP. That will limit his potential WAR. They are not apples and apples, but I was surprised how many innings the Sox let Crotchet throw last year (146). So maybe they let Smith go for it in September and October?

There's really zero reason to push him that hard since White Sox are playing for 2026 draft positioning and Rockies are locked out of Top Ten next year. They wouldn't even get a bonus pick for RoY since a non Top 100 prospect right? Edited May 11, 2025May 11 by caulfield12

Obviously Wilson is the clear front runner but it’s a joke that Smith would be trailing Campbell and Dominguez. Their numbers are not impressive.
