Baseball really shouldn't be this hard. If a high school team stinks then yes they will lose all or almost every game. For a major league team to have little to no hope of winning most every game is just pathetic.

For years  fans were always led to believe that JR liked baseball more than basketball. I don't believe it. A few months ago JR announced that he was spending millions of dollars on the area around  The United Center. If he likes baseball so much was it too much for him to spend some money for some hitters on the White Sox this past off season? I've lived thru some bad years. The 1968-1970 teams were bad. And 4 of the 5 teams Veeck owned his 2nd ownership were bad also. This is a new low. The team can't hit. The middle of the order Robert Jr, Vaughn and Vargas  don't look like they can  hit me. If you traded these 3 guys in a package you wouldn't get a decent player  in return. You would think if an owner really cared about baseball he would be ashamed with this present team. I've touched on this before that this situation is okay with JR having the low payroll. Low payroll= big profits for the owners. How much money does he need?

Like most very wealthy people it is never enough money but with JR I think it goes deeper than that, it is his ego, his arrogance. "I know what I'm doing, how DARE you question me..." (and by proxy the organization which has has that strain of arrogance for decades from people like Kenny Williams to Rick Hahn to Getz among others.)

Plus his feelings about how much MLB players make hasn't changed either, he feels they aren't worth what teams are willing to pay for talent and he chooses not to actively participate in the deep end of that pool.

Veeck at least tried to sell seats and bring in at least one intriguing name: He brought in Zisk, Blumberg, who else, a batch of guys. And the low paid stiffs he brought in were way better than the current throw ins.

I realize its not going to happen but wouldn't it be something  to see JR hold a press conference and take questions from the media?

he's doing that because he likes money, not because he likes sports. if Bridgeport was gentrifying as rapidly as the West Loop is, that dumbass project would be a Sox-related one instead.

Would there be an uproar in Chicago if the Sox moved? Seriously. Would anybody actually care in 2025 if the Sox said they were playing the rest of the season in Vegas with plans to relocate to Nashville?

JR has effectively destroyed this organization.

The team always had trouble drawing big crowds in April. I'm beginning to believe that small crowds will happen during the warmer months.

That's some "quality" Major League players right there kids, let me tell you! 😆

You can always watch Jankowski, Drury and Dalbec at Charlotte.

And "maybe" Clevinger, or has he officially broken all ties with the Sox and moved on?

The White Sox got swept in a home series by a combined score of 23-4 to a team that doesn't even have a major league stadium. Time to call this so-called rebuild a failure. At least face facts.

Greg is the guy who calls into radio, says something to get hosts heated and says "I'll hang up and listen" from Kansas where a move wouldn't affect him.

Dodgers always overrate their prospects, and always find a GM to fall for it

They didn’t even overrate him.  It was clear last year they didn’t think highly of him anymore and his batted ball data was absolutely awful.  Hated the return then and I hate it even more now.

No worse than the garbage product on the field the past many months/years. It's disgraceful how many opponents' seasons the Sox turn around after getting swept by them. Add the A's to the list.

When a team is not even trying to win, when it is affecting the playoffs because of certain teams getting to beat up the Sox more times than others, it's unfair and I would welcome the team getting contracted then bringing a new team to the south side. The Sox single-handedly were responsible for the Royals making the playoffs last year. Surprised no one is agreeing with me. I want Rate Field occupied, just not with Jerry's minor league team that plays a major league schedule.

I wish the news outlets would put an intern in charge of doing a headcount at games. Seriously were there more than 800 fans actually there today?
