The newly elected Pope Leo XIV, is from the south suburbs of Chicago (originally Dolton) and grew up an avid White Sox fan.

I'm pulling out my signed photo of Donn Pall as soon as I get home and putting it on display.

This is great news....I had just texted my wife that the new Pope was born in Dolton and I was reserving judgement until I know if he's a Sox fan...if he was born in Dolton but is a Cubs fan I have no use for him...if he ends up just being a soccer fan, I am neutral.

So VIVA LA PAPA!!!

It would help if you can provide a link or something that confirms this since as I posted ABC in Chicago says he is a Cub fan.

If he is a Sox fan I see nothing wrong with the club promoting the hell out of it. MLB has been doing it for years and encourages it. Hell the Cubs have turned it into an art form.

Also, does this officially make deep dish the pizza of Italy

Pizza arguments are the 3rd rail of arguments....worse than religion. Pope Leo will not be going there this early in his Papacy.

Is having the worst record in baseball history a case for excommunication of an owner?  Asking for a friend

Look man, as a Jew with Catholic grandparents, this is dangerous ground to tread.

But I'll allow it.
