MLB has been doing it for years and encourages it. Hell the Cubs have turned it into an art form. Poor choice of words for the new Holy Father, 'surely promoting the heaven out of it'! Or are you suggesting the White Sox need an exorcism to get the devil out of the ownership!

59th street
Pope Leo XIV most definitely grew up and is still an avid White Sox fan. It is no surprise that the cubbie media lapdogs would immediately claim him to be a scrub fan. It would be quite easy to verify with his local family and friends, but actual journalism is dead and everything is just media “spin” now. Why anyone would believe anything put out by Marquee or the Tribune is beyond me. I was aware of his true fandom from an event at Providence Catholic HS in New Lenox a few years ago. Providence Catholic is an Augustinian school and the new Pope is the first Augustinian to be elected Pope.

We have hope, we got The Pope! Go Go White Sox. Props to you sir for being correct all along. Besides being a Sox fan these days is much like being Job, so we deserve to have the Pope more than the Cubbies.

Maybe 30 years ago. And Augustine is my favorite Catholic theologian so it's a good day all around.
