And that's a 4-2 White Sox Winner for three in a row!

White Sox team ERA is now 3.96, right at league average.
Not sure if it’s due to Katz or these guys are really good, especially the starters.

Pretty amazing especially considering they traded away their 2 best starters from last season. I did say to my brother at the beginning of this season that by the end of this year our starting pitching staff could be quite good.

All four starters have looked good at times, some more than others.  Cannon and Martin seem like steady, #3 starter types while Smith looks be a true 1-2 starter.  Burke, if he can get his walks under control, could be another solid piece.

The bullpen has actually looked decent with a few bright spots.  There's still no bona fide closer, but a team that might win 55 games doesn't really need one.  Let guys like Vasil, Booser, and Wilson continue to get better at high-leverage situations.

And, damn is it nice to see some young blood in the lineup and contributing.  Meidroth, Quero, Elko, Baldwin, and Vargas need to continue playing most days.  There will be ups and downs, but I'd rather watch them develop over other schlubs taking up space.

Sosa?

Yeah...I tend to forget about him, but he's better than I thought.  Quietly a pretty productive guy.  Him at 2B, Meidroth at SS, Vargas at 3B, and Elko at 1B is a pretty good infield.

At some point a team needs to hang on to the good and shed the bad.  Can't be sellers every year or you will just keep going around in circles.  I see some promise in the offense, defense,  and starting pitching.  I'd actually like to see them add a few good bullpen arms to the mix.

No. They shouldn’t be trading for relievers at this point.

Sox are 4-1 under Pope Leo I think.

I think the game had started when he was elected so that doesn't count to me.

Yup the game on Thursday was already in progress when he was announced. The team did not play with the knowledge until Friday so we roll with 4-1 :)

I thought so too but someone told me they lost on Thursday after he was elected

Yep, lost game 4 of the KC sweep right after he was proclaimed the new Pope but we will take a .667 clip everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.

Are we allowed to?

Robert is on his way out the door. Sorry Greg. And he won't be the only one. Even some of the young talent like Korey Lee (26) or Davis Martin (27) could be traded.

If Getz can't get decent talent for Robert I doubt Reinsdorf would even want to pay Robert's $20M salary next year so he might be given away just to shed his salary.

There should be Luka-like outrage if what you say happens. You are saying basically the Sox don't deserve to have a team in MLB. Cause their goal is not entertaining the fans (Robert's catches and occasional bombs) and it certainly isn't winning/contending. This is not what sports are about. I enjoyed your post. It was informative for me, thank u. But this franchise? If its goal is to do the things you said in your post, shame on them and shame on baseball for allowing this to happen. And thanks for saving me my 100 bucks. I will not renew mlb.com just yet after reading that.

Robert barring an injury is as good as gone. There's no way around that reality.

Um, that hasn't been their goal for years now.  This franchise is a dumpster fire they are trying to currently put out, and try to recover from.  The won't be winning or contending for years.

I disagree with this. They tried to win and did make the playoffs 2 years in a row with paying young players early. The strategy only work for a short period of time due to no one else behind them.

I will agree that they don't sell everything out to win. But its not like the GMs haven't tried to get creative under their resource restrictions.

But its true.  That is 2020 and 21 we made the playoffs. 22 was a wake up call, and after 23, there was no doubting this wasn't a playoff team.  It has been years since we were trying to win.

I guess technically 2 years from 23 to 25 is years.

Lip are you as appalled as me with the teams that refuse to attempt to compete? Reinsdorf should invest his money in other areas if he refuses to compete in MLB. Sell the team and invest in other areas.

I guess I'd prefer a public apology or dressing down from the commissioner reprimanding the Sox at least the day they do trade Robert and any other of our future stars like Quero and Elko.

Depends on your definition of "compete." JR is making money maybe that's his way of "competing."

Look let's end this, please...MLB and the commissioner doesn't give a tinkers cuss about how bad the Sox have been, they like JR care about one thing $$$$$.

Second JR IS NOT SELLING THE TEAM...not yesterday, not today, not tomorrow. As long as he is drawing breaths he is not selling and not giving up any real authority to anybody. Period, full stop, end of story.

That's reality, deal with it as best you can and hope to still be alive when new ownership does come on board.

Literally that's all you can do, nothing else you say or do matters in this situation. Even if you have two billion dollars laying around and called up JR and offered it to him for the team, he's say "no." With him it is ego, arrogance, $$$ and power. That's what matters to him.

Again it really sucks for all the good fans who are left but that's reality.

Honestly based on seeing teams adding debt for operations costs, and knowing the Sox revenue streams have just been destroyed in recent years, I would be shocked if the Sox weren't legitimately in the red.
