Schriffen says he has accepted “being the man”, Schriffen was just talking about his fixed swing last week, completely ignoring that he was already in the middle of yet another long slump. Schriffen is so clueless.

Kyyle23
Ellard seems like a guy who hasn’t fully realized that his stuff plays at this level. I think once that happens he is gonna be pretty wicked

caulfield12
Well at least they finally started cutting down on Smith usage...but the offense is just dead like the dog days of August are already upon them. Teel and Quero both need to get more at bats collective to show what they can actually do when they get in an offensive rhythm again.
fathom
Letting Quero bat instead of Teel made no sense as well. What a pathetic game by Vargas.
GreenSox
I notice a nexus between Vargas not hitting and his biggest advocate, Harold, not posting. Please resume posting Harold - Vagas needs you! Venable using Rojas as a pinch hitter is nothing but a clown act; not taking his job seriously. 1

I think he realizes that the guy in front of him got "fired" because Jerry didn't like him, and he is doing everything he can to kiss his bosses ass and keep his phoney baloney job. I swear I'm really not trying to be mean but there's nothing I've seen from John that paints him as either a particularly smart person or a particularly curious one. He reminds me a little of Niel Funk except at least Niel Funk had a classic announcer's cadence and could call a good game even if the fool didn't know what he was watching like John. He can be a company stooge and what I just said, no conflict there. Probably how JR wants it after Jason.

Call it what you want, but I don't think he believes most of what he is saying, but knows it is good for him to be saying it.
