Adrian Houser traded to TB for former top prospect Curtis Mead

If Houser isn't traded it would almost certainly mean either

1. Getz is delusional on asking price

2. There is some kind of undisclosed problem with Houser — injury, PEDs, misconduct, etc.

Yeah, he is not a guy you take past today given his history and where our team stands.

#1 doesn’t make sense because Houser is a free agent after this season.  You either take the best offer and move on, or you get nothing for him.  If you want Houser back, you offer him a contract in the offseason.

#2 is just pure speculation and not worth mentioning.

Yeah I mean #1 doesn't make sense other than it is at least theoretically possible that a team's general manager is incompetent and blunders an obvious decision :D

I guess we’ll find out just after 5 PM Central Time.

I think he is valuable enough to take innings from the young pitchers to protect thoer arms if they dont have a offer of anything more than just a flyer.

Someone will need to throw the innings.

They already have a bunch of that with guys like Clevinger, Syndergaard, Perez is coming back.

It will be pretty shocking if no one was interested in what he has done so far this year.

Nonsense.  They have guys they already paid for that will be ready to perform your task.  This is just five off the top of my head.  Not trading Houser would be moronic.

I forgot about Perez. I have no interest in seeing the other 2.

If they have to shut down Smith or any of the others. They'll probably need them though.

We have no interest in seeing a lot of these guys but if its their arms getting used up instead of our promising young guys, whatever.
