My wife and I are coincidentally on vacation in Huntington Beach not far from Anaheim and thinking about going to the game tonight. Anyone have any experience at Angels Stadium?

I didn't see a game, but I watched my friend's graduation there. It's a cool park, they even had the fountain going. To my eye, I thought very well-maintained for its age, although the city and state might be skeptical. I would plan on it being much hotter than Huntington Beach. Maybe not an issue for a night game, it'll probably be very pleasant, but if you end up going Sunday I would anticipate being uncomfortably warm. You should definitely go, I suspect it's another one of these parks that is scheduled for deletion.

Yeah I was just sweating my ass off, I wasn’t use to it because going to games in Houston the roof is always closed so it’s never an issue.

I had that fine experience at Kaufmann stadium back in '19. My niece got tix upper tank, 1B side, Saturday afternoon. I think we left after 5 innings.

So we get Robertson late last week, move him to Charlotte, then bring him to Chicago, then fly him to LA, now back to Charlotte, unless he stays in LA with the team, but can't dress.

Annoying.  I wish they would just play him, but I assume Venable didn’t want such a lefty heavy assortment of outfielders?  No idea, but Rojas needs to be DFA’ed yesterday.

He might be an alright platoon guy.

He ended last season with a .652 OPS against lefties.  He got worse with more playing time.  He’ll also be 30 before next season starts.  I think his time has passed and I’d rather see the playing time go to a younger outfielder.

I’m just not sure who that is in this org because Dru Baker sucks. I guess any option that becomes available on waivers though, which they can still do.

Just back from a cruise, nice series against the Phillies and probably should have won 2 games in the Cubs series. if JR decided all at once to spend a few bucks on 2 or 3 free agents, I think the Sox could contend for a Wild Card in 2026. Right now the Pythagorean stat has this years White Sox at 47-62 which is sort of amazing after  how bad this team was in 2024.
I’m not sure what to think of Getz deciding to keep Robert, the positive side of me has me thinking the Luis has finally figured things out and at 27 years old will wind up with a decent 2025 and becomes a superstar next year as the Sox become  a competitive club. The negative side of me has me thinking that Robert will probably wind up on the IL while reverting to what we have seen the last year and a half. There’s also the possibility that Robert has an insane last 2 months with the bat and during the off season teams will be lined up with over the top offers for Robert.

When you said if JR decides to spend etc. my odd brain told the only way JR decides to spend is if was part of his agreement with Ishbia like I'll let you have double secret control but no one can know because I want to look good to the fans before I'm gone. I know this probably goes against all kinds of league rules especially since the Ishbia have not completed the sale. But I'd love to see what debts the Ishbia's agree to pay down or off.

Yes I do but don't know how helpful I will be. It's a nice place to see a game. A lot easier getting in and out of the parking lots there than Dodger stadium plus there's always a decent size contingent of Sox fans there. I went there for the ALCS deciding game against the Angels in 2005 . That was fun. The buddy I went with got on TV with his young son on his lap and it's immortalized on the World Series DVD, which included that full game during, the 7th inning Pepsi Fan Cam. I was right next him but it was a close in shot .

Yep, Getz should jump on any 24/25 year old formerly hyped OF or 1B that somehow makes it to waivers.  Based on the news that the Cubs were almost close to trading for Houser, I wouldn’t be surprised if Getz was trying to get their 1B prospect Jonathon Long that was discussed a few times here.

I agree.  The new era of WS baseball starts tonight.
