Robertson was DFA by the Blue Jays in July and the Sox acquired him for cash considerations.

Benintendi is not even a 1.0 bWAR player due to his poor defense and still mediocre bat.  His high priced salary is what makes him not worth his performance.

Maybe I heard wrong on the CHGO podcast .Sean Anderson said something about it being in the positve terirory. Maybe it was since the All Star break because he said they were 18-24 since the All Star break.

Ill have to listen to it again because that seemed shocking to me too because of their record. I apologize. I had planned on listening to that part of the podcast again but didnt before I posted.

Ok let me try that again. I listened to last night's CHGO show again . At the 11: 20 mark Sean Anderson said the Sox 2nd half record was 19-23 and in those games they were a +16 Run differential 222-206.

I think Beni is one case the new stats don't tell the story. He's hitting about .250 now finally and he has blasted close to 20 homers. His arm is worse than ever but that's OK. He plays for the flawed White Sox. I guess his LF defense makes him a below average player overall but man, he has been a productive hitter for the Sox, advanced metrics be darned. Plus remember he's on a losing team. If he was needed by a contender he'd take more pitches, draw more walks, etc. I'm a Beni-liker. He's good IMO.
