I highly doubt this will happen since they are trying to flush the past and defensively he was awful last year which is one of the few areas he has been consistently good at previously. It would also leave Vargas without anywhere to play.

Let's focus on continuing to develop our young players and building a good lockerroom.

Certain matchups against RHP potentially at 3B/DH, but there is so much history/baggage with him that I can’t possibly see them actually bringing him back.

Maybe, just maybe, the White Sox would like to show interest to get him to talk about his conditioning now compared to all the times he was injured, then when he opens up, they have evidence to sue him for his salary.

There’s no way in hell. He came back from injury late in 2024 and they wouldn’t even play him.

Hopefully by the time the option year rolls around for this Soderstrom deal where it might surpass the $100M mark, the Sox will be under new ownership and we fans won't be staring in awe at some other team's $131M contract.

Or this reporter is doing a solid for Yoan by listing teams with bad 3Bs to try to create interest

Caulfield changed this from a general MLB FA thread to "White Sox" thread. I was putting the Sox signings in the MLBTR offseason outlook thread. But here's a non-Sox signing that is interesting in that some at the Sox Machine fan/roster threads yearned for Harvey.

Okamoto would be great if they have trades lined up with Vargas/Sosa for pitching. I’m not counting on it though.

But why?  If all goes well, we’re drafting Roch at the 1.01 next year and that will push Colson to 3B.  Okamoto is a luxury we don’t need at the moment.

Okamoto does have experience playing OF as well. I’m not sure what the quality of his defense is there, but that is probably the best spot for him on this team. I don’t think they will sign him anyway though, I’m guessing he will be a a Pirate.
