I would be surprised if he doesn't avoid the spotlight. I also wonder if the owners would even want him as their stooge, err, make that spokesman this time.

Why would anyone listen to him?
Sunday at 02:17 PM2 days JR is the only large market owner who desperately seeks small market subsidies/favoritism because of how he allowed the franchise to be totally run into the ground from 2022-25.
Sunday at 03:05 PM2 days The recent CBAs have arguably been terrible for the White Sox. By the league's internal metrics, the Sox are basically the poorest and worst off team that is classified as too rich and well-off to get any help from the revenue sharing and competitive balance systems. If the Sox do well financially, they will have to share a bit with the poorer teams. If they do poorly, they are on their own. And they get the big-market penalties with regard to draft lottery, compensatory picks, international spending, etc.

Teams with ridiculously larger fan bases than the Sox (St. Louis, Detroit) get those advantages and the Sox do not.

Monday at 03:53 PM1 day Detroit also gets a lot of fans from the Windsor area just across the border, a city of ~300KA lot of the new proposed rules by the owners are potentially costly in their timing, too. Edited Monday at 04:13 PM1 day by Lukakke Appling
Yesterday at 01:06 PM1 day Changed my mind completely.Which college pitcher is the most likely to pull a Crochet and be a new closer ASAP? Seranthony has scarred me.
22 hours ago22 hr Am I wrong that the MLB draft is held in the weirdest time compared to other sports? It feels like it should be in January or February, prior to an upcoming season for both college and MLB, and allows players recovery time from their season instead of some of the college players that we have seen starting to make the jump to the majors in the same season as they are drafted
20 hours ago20 hr IDK, I think it would be a lot of dead time for these guys if they sat around until the offseason before being drafted. Getting it done shortly after the College World Series makes sense to me. From there, teams can decide how to use the remaining couple months of the professional season...sometimes the guys seem to just hang out at extended spring, sometimes they head out to affiliates depending on readiness.
17 hours ago17 hr Just take Cholowsky. The Bears fooled around and took Mitch Trubisky. Then they got it right and took the consensus number one in Caleb Williams.

I don’t think anyone would be remotely surprised at any order that Lackey, Cholowski and Emerson fall. And I’m happy with Caleb and all, but I sure wouldn’t be mad if I were sitting with Drake Maye either.
