Non-White Sox Off-Season Hot Stove

At this point just give Sosa an OF glove and sign a starter that can at least give you a little something every 5 days.

I’d rather see this happen than sign Tauchman.  Sosa can alternate at LF and DH with Benintendi.  If Tauchman wants to sign an MILB deal as an NRI, fine.

Good for the Dodgers, they care about winning unlike a bunch of other teams.

  • I have a really hard time viewing the Jerry Reinsdorf owned White Sox as victims. The system most designed to screw the Sox is the one JR operates.

The Dodgers lol.  This league is just dumb. Best is those who think there are no issues. "Free Market."

I wouldn't think Braden Montgomery is up any time before September, at the earliest. Tauchman would probably be the best option for this team; the devil you know, and all. He's also nice insurance against an extended Jarrod Kelenic run if Kelenic can't turn it around. I would really think the most energy should be put towards getting Baldwin, Acuña, and Pereira as much time in the lineup as possible. If Kelenic hits, he may be gone in July. If Acuña and Pereira hit, you have your outfield.

BTW, from 8/2 on, Baldwin OPSed .803.

Much sooner for Braden imo.

This dude is making the rounds…

Yankees designated INF/OF Marco Luciano for assignment.
Luciano was on the Yankees for four days. Since the end of the season, Luciano has been on the Giants, Pirates, Orioles, and Yankees. It remains to be seen where the former top prospect ends up, but he’s just 24 years old, so there may still be a chance for him to establish himself as an MLB regular.

Which means the Sox have passed on him at least twice.

Old friend alert

Seems pretty late in the offseason for this, I wonder what the story is.

I thought the same when I saw that earlier

Weird the Vikings also did it for their GM today which is weird timing as well.

Yeah, Gleeman had a bit of color on that too:

I suspect the Pohlads may be about to do the full Reinsdorf and trade Ryan, Buxton, etc and Falvey wanted none of it. Can’t be a great place to work if the top 2 baseball guys both voluntarily leave in a two year period.

Cant trade Bux anywhere without him agreeing and has sounded like he wanted to stay

Hope they keep all those guys. Let them rot and see their trade value decrease. Don’t want the Twins to accumulate a bunch of young assets.

Especially in a farm system that is ranked ahead of ours

Keith Law has the Sox 8th, and the Twins bottom third.

It’s actually the opposite. The new Pohlad owner wants to win without spending anymore money and the baseball people know it isn’t possible. Falvey got out before he could ultimately get fired.

ESPN Twins 8, Sox 20.

MLB Twins 2, Sox 17

FG Twins 12, Sox 22

Prospects 1500 Twins 9, Sox 14

BA hasn't released yet

Good for the Reds.

I know he's older, but I'm surprised Suarez has as little of a market as he did.

Wonder if the Pirates come to talk to us since they keep striking out in FA. And we have a few 3B options to mention to them.. Mead. Sosa if he counts as 3b

This seems like it could be a major steal for ATH. Extremely club-friendly contract. Wilson has the potential to be one of the top SS in the game for a long time.

I bet he would go to the Dodgers or Yankees.

Yeah I think he would agree to go to a powerhouse that has a chance to win.
