I read this in his voice and now I’m preemptively mad about a signing that won’t even happen.

I was literally imagining Schriff-dawg say it during a 2026 Sox game as I was typing it.

tray
Getz pursuit of players like Kellenic and Conforto make me wonder if the Sox feel that Braden Montgomery will not be major league ready for longer than anticipated. Also, Baldwin had some issues with tracking and catching fly balls so he might not be an acceptable 4th or 5th outfielder. If only Braden could be ready to go on Opening day, the plan for the outfield, at least at the corners, might be a lot more clear. The Sox need a defensive outfielder with a strong throwing arm to replace Benintendi in late innings plus a RFer if Braden doesn't make it up. He's had 143 PAs as high as AA, where he only OPSed .780. He still strikes out way too much. Some here have spoken about B.M. being up as soon as May, and I think that if he rakes at Birmingham, maybe he's up at or near the TDL? 1

Even an optimistic timeline should be September, not the Super 2 deadline. This kid has barely gotten wet, and hasn't experienced any failure or struggle. Let him simmer a bit. 1

ChiSox59
I'd be fine with it if cheap. Traditionally has got on base. Should fit well in the park offensively. He may be toast, but Sox aren't exactly strong in the corners. Don't see the issue if they take a flier.
