LUIS ROBERT TRADED

Acuna had an OPS+ of 62 last year. In 2400 minor league at bats he has 41 HR and an OPS of .741. Guy’s a R/R tweener who is probably a utility player and a pinch runner. Mets got all the upside here. Frankly, I would rather have a couple of teenaged lottery tickets.

Yeah but did you see his 14 games in 2024? He practically looked like Ronald Acuna.

Luis Robert won't be on the next good White Sox team. Acuna and Pauley might be. It's basically that simple. The league just told you what Robert is worth. Holding him into the season would be insane.

Or, sending money didn't get them much more interest.

Not true at all, Reds were willing to give a better package last year if they included money.

The last piece of that Hahn era is gone. Goodbye Robert. Thank you for that one amazing year. Other than that, likely will barely play 100 games with the Mets.

This year too from the reporting.

lmfao, Chris getz will always be remembered for this garbage just like Hahn and Tatis Jr

Safe to say that the Hahn method of signing guys to guaranteed money contracts with option years before they played in the majors did not work out...at all.

It does not pay to be cheap asses.

"Last year" isn't "now".

No one should be shocked here, Robert hasn’t been good in years and makes $20 million a year.

hopefully this ends the cuban pipeline, crossing my fingers that we look elsewhere from now on

Is Acuna really 5'8 180? That makes Meidroth look big. Why do we trade for players with 0 power potential?

Chris Getz gets Getz-like players.

That being said, I do hope Acuna works out.

We still have Quero and Vargas.

I actually had Luisangel on my fantasy team at the end of 2024. He was legit good for like 2 weeks.

He’s still young. who knows.

I think acuna is your CF

Yeah i think that's the plan.

Awful value still though.

I can’t imagine sending much cash if that’s the return. And honestly, might as well have just dealt him in July.

Sold lower now than they might have later, correct. There ought to be a good point to doing it now. Otherwise, don’t do it just to do it

Should have traded him after 2023 when the plug got pulled. What a colossal blunder. Never in a million years would I have thought he would end up in an awful salary dump trade one day.

Money

No idea why you pick up the option if this is the return. A best-case bullpen guy and a 4th outfielder? Bleh.

I really wish we could have gotten Chase Petty instead.

Cash is a great player. Love that guy.

Give him every chance to be your center fielder. Much more valuable to the Sox than being another utility player.

He sucks, so doesn’t bother me
