I don't know how far off his norms he was in terms of velocity. I do think it's reasonable to think that his poor command in MLB might have had to do with his elbow. Of course we'll get to find out more about what he can do before too long. His velocity was apparently down a couple ticks with us in the minors vs. what it was in his final season with the Yankees when he was Minor League pitcher of the year.

March 9Mar 9 Yeah cute how he's not currently in high school. Fine I misread that someone wanted him in Winston Salem because a number of posters wanted Braden Anderson moved up all the way to Chicago last year. First round draft picks from high school level 90-95% of time are in low A the following year. Edited March 9Mar 9 by caulfield12

Certainly a ”hot takel" around here is that a #10 drafted high schooler is on his way to Low A ball...and not AZ Complex ball. You'd be hard pressed to find many that weren't so similarly advanced, except players who were hurt their draft year or signed really really late. If it was such a pressing issue to big league teams, they wouldn't have dumped so many rookie league and A level minor league teams, me thinks.
March 9Mar 9 Who said he was “lost” after watching him like 2 games? Not saying he’s found eithet. But give the kid a chance
