It was bound to happen eventually. The Phillies may have been hitting poorly, but that lineup has a lot of talent.

Well the good news is they aren't going to get swept. Given the schedule the next two weeks that's a very big deal in my opinion.

I think we can hold all the talk, at least by some that Sandlin is a "stud" pitcher. He's got a long way to go before that moniker can be applied.

And with Richards in the game you know the game is probably lost.

Bullpen has begun to regress overall again the past week, which is not good news, given the schedule.

Really need Schultz to come back strong and get the Mason Adams of the world up here when ready.

I wonder if we have seen the last of Sandlin in the starting rotation. As it stands now he would be starting against the Dodgers next weekend. I don't know when Schultz is coming back. I don't know if Hagen Smith is ready to start in the rotation. I do know the team needs another starting pitcher.

They realistically need more than one.

This team, as assembled, isn't built to "win". There are some aspects that are good. But this year was still supposed to be about giving some prospects runway to see what they had. Sandlin, Schultz, Shane Smith, McDougal, Hagen Smith, Thorpe, Mason Adams, Ky Bush - they're the cavalry. I'd think Sandlin is out there until one of these guys pops, or somebody's minor league free agent becomes available.

Maybe this team wasn't built to win. But the team is winning now and with a few additions this team could get into the playoffs this year.

Up until that point, Meidroth had struck out and rolled into a ground out against Nola. Droth does have the correct platoon splits, so maybe Will saw that as a way to set up 2 runs on a single, which he got from Grichuk.
