3 hours ago3 hr Sonny Gray and Aroldis Chapman just seems too perfect in terms of needs and commitment to players

The only change is that the Braves could really use another SP and they will also be super attractive to Sonny.

They're not going to trade away their top young assets. They're going to be very selective about getting a good deal. I wouldn't expect too much. If Sonny Gray is mostly a cash deal maybe him. Maybe can add an unrated RP or 2 also but maybe the help comes from within since we have a lot of young arms mending. Hell the team has ridden the youth this far might as well just let it ride.

1 hour ago1 hr 3 minutes ago, fathom said:Oh yeah, more like top 5Shouldn't be. And certainly should never pay that price. But probably will be.Again, though, moves like this are how we got bad. ( it was a big part of it). Imagine had the Cubs chosen Crochet instead of Madrigal. And it's not like Chapman has been pristine. His 1.27 WHIP trails Grant Taylor, Newcomb, Richard, the much maligned (at least by me) Eisert; it also trails Tyler Davis and also much maligned Leasure. And for the bWAR believers, behind Taylor and Newcomb and Hudson.
