Even with Ishbia's money it isn't a 100% lock for Mune to stay.It will be very interesting what direction the Sox go with Mune, Gonzalez, Bonemer, and possibly Roch.Ishbia is not and may not be in the picture as you say next year when it is time to extend Mune. There is no way JR and the current organization will let Mune walk without offering him an enormous contract. He is too important to this team and to this city of great baseball fans. It would be like allowing Michael Jordan to walk. Not going to happen. Edited July 1Jul 1 by tray

According to him himself, he wants to stay here.

July 1Jul 1 Author With the Padres sputtering, I keep thinking about Mason Miller. I’d have to imagine that would cost Bonemer though if they are even willing to trade him at all.

July 1Jul 1 I received a email from the White Sox today. They want season ticket holders to renew for the 2027 season before August 3, 2026. I don't remember them asking for our money so far in advance. I wonder what happens to the money if no games are played in 2027.

There's no way that team will be in the playoffs. Their window has closed.

July 2Jul 2 The Padres will be rebuilding in 2027. Yea, let's do what they did.Or we could be like the Brewers.

I hope they're lining up long time sponsors if Mune's signs long term. That might be the only way JR pays for him. Some big time sponsors investing advertising in a winning team with an international superstar is like welcome to the big leagues JR . But if Mune goes to Free Agency the chances become much less. He has to be resigned before he hits the open market and would help a lot if Mune hits just as well after he comes back and the Sox win the division. Lots of factors in play here.

I had my entire 2021 tickets paid off after no fans in 2020.

July 2Jul 2 Acquiring quality pitching at the trade deadline is costly. I don't want a couple month rental of a 36 year old Sonny Gray. The Sox are way ahead of schedule on the rebuild and making moves in the off season would be fine with me. Pitching help will be on the way from the minors, with Smith, McDougal, and possibly Adams.

Plus you can slide the others into the pen to strengthen that. You can still add in off-season but you dont know when that will be and how much of a 2027 season there will be either. Sox are good now and need to take advantage of that plus with the American league not being very good either. Not saying going nuts this deadline but you have to give them help and with ones who have experience. Edited July 2Jul 2 by Whisox05
