It’s weird, although maybe they were just trying to accommodate Urquidy. This was Mason’s normal day to start and he still pitched, but in a relief role and less innings than usual.

Maybe Soxtalk will be wrong again on the value of a player. We’ve made trades the past 3-4 years where we ended up being underwhelmed due to us overvaluing guys. Or having different targets than ultimately received. Maybe we’ll be wrong on Detmers too.

Definitely would rather have Detmers over Holmes due to age and years of control, but it all comes down to the cost.

I do think Urquidy is the second starter already, and they try to obtain a catcher.

If they are actually relying on Jose Urquidy to provide meaningful innings, then they are toast.
