51 minutes ago51 min Would we hold on to Romo until Teel is healthy? Or just call up Hasse and have him back up Stephenson?

Can’t look now but I would probably keep whichever catcher hits righties better (I know I know. Both their stats overall are bad) since Stephenson is right handed in this scenario.

I don't know how much longer they can have Romo, an automatic out in the line up. Initially, he at least hit some long balls, but hasn't for a couple of months.

Not sure why people are acting like Haase is anything. He’s bad.

Hard to have two totally new catchers mid-season.

If Teel does come back, would love to see a scenario where they platoon. Could also give Teel some at bats at DH to ease him back in. Stephensons career numbers are good against left handers, although this year they are really bad. Important to note this year's sample size vs lefties is really small. Also, the metrics indicate a lot of it is down to bad luck.

Not really straight platoon, but Teel can find his playing time against righties catching 2-3 days a week.

Maybe they are expecting a quick turnaround. And ironically, just when you think you have an established starting catcher, s%*# happens and you have to rely on your backup or an offseason waiver claim at catcher. See the 2026 White Sox.

He’s bad.Not acting like Haase is anything more than a temporary backup to Stephenson because Quero and Romo have been horrific in a lot of ways. While Haase isn't much of a hitter or even very good defensively, He does have a very good rep as a game caller and in game adjustments , has caught 2 no hitters and caught Skubal when Skubal was on the rise.Advanced game-management metrics (such as Adjusted Earned Runs Saved, which measures pitch-calling and plan execution) have rated him near the top of the major leagues.
