Anyone who is thinking Hartl is going to take over for Romo is batshit... After looking at his stats for 15 seconds you'd notice that he's only in high A ball and throughout his career in the minors he's hit just about as well as Romo has in the show.

This one still has me scratching my dome.

I guess the Sox decided that Peoples won't be able to be a valuable relief option due to his command issues and Texas must think it needs to try shoving in any way possible to determine if they'll be buying more or selling come the deadline.

But more realistically, I think Pallette may have leapfrogged Peoples and they don't think they'll have 40 man room for both.

Guessing we will be seeing a lot of these kind of moves in the next couple months and into the offseason. The 40 man is a mess. There's no room.

Can't believe I'm saying this but I trust the Sox HITTING department. Also its funny that Hartl and Antonacci are buddies and former teammates. He gets HBP just as much in the minors.

Isn't that Catcher we got in an earlier trade, Boston I think is his name, raking in A ball? I feel like I see him all the time while watching those down on the farm home run highlights.

Yeah, Boston Smith. He’s been great. Already bumped up to A+ and has a 1.045 OPS as of right now.

Seems like a waste of an asset, if you wanted a low minors filler C you can just pay cash.

I haven't really been a Peoples believer, so in principle trading him is fine by me. But I am definitely a little confused about the return. Even if you saw something in this kid you traded for, well, you probably could have had him for a small cash fee. I almost wonder if that's how the conversation between the teams started.

How is this kid’s defense behind the plate? I keep seeing people say he’s not a prospect, but I think it’s tough judging a minor league catcher solely by their offensive numbers.

he wasn't on the 40 man though, that is a problem for after the season not when our bullpen has holes and he could possibly contribute
