Two winnable games vs Cleveland, both lost by the bullpen.
8 hours ago8 hr Venable says postgame that Seranthony pitched better than the boxscore looks, since ump stole a strikeout from him. On the other hand, I see Venable's actions: pulling Seranthony at the first opportunity even though failing to get an inning from him was disastrous for our pitcher usage. So, I think the postgame comments amount to a little bit of ass-kissing for Seranthony.

8 hours ago8 hr I was hoping that Murakami would have been activated to DH in this important 4 game series. The season only was so many games against a team fighting for the division. Sox needed him.

8 hours ago8 hr I don't really see a place on the team for Jacob when Mune comes back. But Jacob has impressed me and has nothing to hang his head about. We'll likely see him back at some point.

We'll likely see him back at some point. If/when they bring back Mune, Gonzo could stay at 1B with Mune at DH , at least for the time being. Again, IMO, that should have been done at the outset of this series. It will be difficult to pick up 4 games against Cleveland if we get swept , especially after they bring back Ramirez.
7 hours ago7 hr By no means do I think this is a competent bullpen but to be fair I saw recently a stat that said they have either thrown the most innings or made the most appearances (maybe both) in MLB.That is a direct result of the Sox having a starting pitching staff that can't go deep into games and basically doesn't scare anybody. Hell they don't even have a fifth starter they can use regularly. This is a bad pitching staff from top to bottom. We'll never know what Getz has been allowed to do by JR but he has to bear some responsibility for putting this staff together, or maybe to the point not putting together at least a decent one for the year. (And if the Sox were flailing away in the standings again they could be used a trade fodder.) Edited 7 hours ago7 hr by Lip Man 1

Need to start planning for deals at the trade deadline.

Why spend heavily on a staff if you expect it to be a rebuilding year with moderate progression from last? This team was never intended to be in a race in July.
6 hours ago6 hr Kinda hoping we get rained out tomorrow so the bullpen can rest. Split the doubleheader on Sunday and get our asses home

1 hour ago1 hr Does Colson Montgomery need to go back to Arizona for another reset? He is an automatic out lately. Usually a strikeout. Now his defense is going south too. Bad back? Reverting to the form he showed in most of minor league career? He's killing us right now.

14 minutes ago14 min 2 bad and frustrating loses. The ball that Montgomery booted was terrible. Had a slow Catcher running down the line, just field the damn ball.Lack of concentration in a big moment. We are going to get swept because this bullpen is shot.Cleveland really is not good but if you keep walking them then it doesn't matter.Any chance of winning today has to have a formula where Burke goes at least 6 and Taylor pitches only 9th. 7th and 8th?? Who the hell knows......actually I would let Hicks pitch, he is pretty fresh and has thrown the ball well.Just brutal losses
6 minutes ago6 min nobody here said it, but there is that dreaded 5 letter word starting with C. It happened.
