July 5Jul 5 Davis will get in for sure. I'm gutted we don't have more but also thankful. They need a break. Would rather have them fresh for the playoff Push
July 5Jul 5 Did we win the Fedde/Kopech trade? This kid is so damn awesome. Gonna be a staple in this lineup for years to come. Congrats Miguel

Congrats MiguelEdman and Kopech were crucial for the Dodgers in that World Series run. At this point I'd say it's a win-win-lose.And man, I'd like to formally apologize to Vargas for everything I said about him. Absolutely amazing turnaround for him.
July 5Jul 5 Love that he’s in. Bummed he’s our only one publicly voted in. Should get Davis and maybe Taylor in there as well. I wonder if Miguel will participate in the derby. That would be fun.
July 5Jul 5 It wasn't that long ago that Tim Anderson was selected and the attitude in the clubhouse was ho-hum.
July 5Jul 5 Sorry to lose focus, but being the only team in the division without multiple all stars is annoying.Edit: Also, very happy for Miguel. Edited July 5Jul 5 by Sox72
July 5Jul 5 Murakami would have been there for sure.Colson tailed off the last 2-3 weeks.Martin gave up 9 when Venable left him out there to wear it...still should be in there based on his overall body of work as Sox stopper until Burke. Was top 5 mlb fWAR a month or so ago.

So is the story true that Anderson was announced an all-star to the entire locker room, and no one reacted or applauded? If true, just wow. You had to know your clubhouse was a cancer seeing that. No wonder that group underachieved so badly.

July 5Jul 5 "Identifying which starting pitching snubs are most egregious can depend a lot on your WAR of choice, as baseball-reference WAR places a greater emphasis on workload and run prevention, while FanGraphs' WAR is FIP-based, meaning it places a higher value on process-related metrics such as strikeouts, walks and home run suppression. Reid Detmers, for example, is tied for sixth among qualified pitchers in fWAR (2.9), but he's 40th in bWAR (1.4). Conversely, A's right-hander J.T. Ginn is tied for seventh in bWAR (3.1), but he's 45th in fWAR. What does this have to do with Davis Martin? He rates well by both metrics: sixth in bWAR (3.2) and tied for 11th in fWAR (2.7). Wielding a remarkably balanced repertoire — Martin throws six different pitches at least 10% of the time — the 29-year-old right-hander has been the steadiest starter for the surprisingly competitive White Sox."yahoo sports

Be positive, be helpful, hustle, work the count, work hard, get on base, bash home runs and get more lefthanded.Antonacci had a great June. Vargas had the best moth of his career in May and had a better June. Tristan Peters is the biggest shock of all. He waited for the Acuna in CF gig to end and stepped right in as if he was born out there. He's been the most consistent defensive and offensive combination on the team, 2nd to only Vargas in WAR among position players.Davis Martin slowed down a little but then Burke steps up. But Martin deserves as much credit as anyone for how unexpectedly good they have been.Bryan Hudson might be the most unheralded guy on the team. What Colson Montgomery has done so far in MLB is amazing no matter how we want to complain about K's or being streaky . He struggled a bit in June but still smashing HR's and killing LHP. Who saw that coming ?The BP needs help ,definitely 2 arms but they are way better than last year. People were pushing trade Taylor last year at this time of year which I found incredulous.Jacob Gonzalez has shown a knack for driving in runs . Braden Montgomery has played well and is just starting what is hopefully a long tenure as the Sox RF. How awesome is that to say after years of RF being a wasteland. Same goes for 2nd base with Meidroth. He's doing better this year than last. That's what you want in young players.Schultz is back . Shane Smith and Tanner McDougal are pitching on rehab assignments . Mason Adams has been recovering very nicely from his TJ surgery.SO nice also to have Teel back !MM the big bopper is returning soon. Help is coming from within so I wouldn't expect any earth shattering trades. As far as I'm concerned there's a lot of All-Star talent not only among the players but all the on field personnel. And the guy who created this rising from the ashes was none other than Chris Getz who was the biggest pariah on this board next to JR but Getz got a lot more ink. And before anyone reminds me about a flex or cautions me that we are far from a complete product and if we lose Mune it could be a disaster etc., all I'm doing is celebrating the moment.Congrats Miguel and the rest of you. You are all All-Stars.
July 5Jul 5 How do the fucking Tigers have 3 times as many All Stars as the White Sox? Twins and Royals both have more too. Also hysterical that Clement and Guerrero Jr. are starting. Murakami has 4 times as many HRs, 3 times as much WAR as Vladdy in 2/3 the amount of at bats. Just a dumb selection process.
