How about two more Gonzo HR's today and a Cub 5 game winning streak.

Cheering too hard for the Cubs won't go over well...especially when the Tigers pose more of a threat than MN.

That's typically how draft picks work. You hope they're good in the future. Is Roch Chowalsky good? Maybe one day. Would you trade, I dunno, a 1 WAR player for Roch? He's an unknown commodity, you kno

I just don’t agree with this take. You think market value of a comp pick is a major league ready LH hitting infielder with plus plate discipline & power who brings a solid glove at multiple spots

  • Quick takes from this trade: Probably Roch tomorrow. Makes the draft even more fun tomorrow. I feel like we got 85 cents on the dollar. I understand why you would think to move Gonzalez, but feel

If the Cubs win their next 4 games, I will be a happy camper.

😂 And you would still be celebrating those trades as slam dunk wins for the Sox and strokes of genius by Getz.

It would still be a short term result.

Lots of people hated trading Crochet even though it was 100% the right call and the 1st year he was with Boston and Meidroth was up and Teel much later yea it looked bad.

But Crochet got injured in 2026 which was a big reason for trading him along with we needed more young position players. And now after Teel's injury and Braden's ascension all 3 position players are in the lineup and making big contributions as mainstays to the core.

Vargas trade looked bad too. I know it can't be helped to judge trades right away but it does take years sometimes before we know for sure how to judge it. Like crying about all those nothing trades turned out to be nothing to this date.

Gonzo with a double to pad the pirates lead.

While he was at bat their color announcer reported that in the offseason near the beginning of the year, Jacob’s Dad encouraged him to step toward the ball to keep his hip in.

Apparently his Dad had suggested that often but Gonzo always resisted - this reporter Chuck attributed that change to his breakout.

Part of me calls BS.
