If they liked the swing at 34 more than that, fine. Probably not a deal I'd make given we're one injury away from needing him back up in Chicago, but I can see the reasons they made it.

A once in 50 years draft ( meaning the Sox had the 1:1) and a chance to keep building in a strong draft class with unprecedented draft money for a non-revenue sharing team are damn good reasons. Sox could be contenders when Ishbia takes over and builds a new stadium.

Try to imagine that. A new owner who spends and builds a brand new state of the art stadium surrounded by a baseball village like Atlanta and Sox fans filling it up making all kinds of noise. I envy you guys who will be around for it.
