  • Yoan would have been airlifted off the field if he did that

  • In case you're wondering, MLB rules allow the bullpen catcher to be used as an emergency catcher so long as MLB has approved the bullpen catcher as being sufficiently able-bodied and experienced in co

  • While my gut feeling is it's close to the worst case scenario, you really can't even go a day without a second catcher so I think Quero would be coming up no matter what, even if they thought Teel was

I would say nowadays he is playing about as well as his contract

And yet his WAR is slightly above replacement offensively. He just seems to get big hits for us though. And I am sure he has been great for the clubhouse

Fedde this year feels like the guy where you see him struggle right away, write him off, and then before you know it, he has 4-5 innings logged and keeps you in the game.

If it isn't torn that's a huge win already

He tore his ankle IMO

How about Roch?

That's the Colson Montgomery experience.

@Green Line we need you to talk some sense into some people about what Colson really is.

Red Sox just won 14th consecutive...longest in eighty years

Orioles 7 game streak broken

I remember a streak by the Sox in 1961 where they won 19 out of 20 games, 8 game winning streak, a loss and then an 11 game streak.

For long term ramifications, rather have that

Are we cheering for the Tigers to be unable to trade Skubal?

No no and no.

That's what you would get out of Jacob Gonzalez for under $1 million.

But at least he's not killing them any more.

He has had 20 homers each of the last 2 seasons.

Merkin’s is much better…

Pay attention to his gum chewing, you’ll really be exasperated!

I would watch out for what you wish for. Their run differential suggests they're a much better team than their record and that's a team that has playoff and pennant chase experience. They could easily sneak back into the AL Central race very quickly if things go right for them.

Lot of talk about Haase but he's really not a very good defensive catcher. Seems like the brain trust for the Sox cares a ton about a guy being at least around average on D. Hunter Goodman good enough on D but he's got Lenyn Sosa plate discipline...Getz has never acquired a guy like that. Heim a little more the prototype but the problem is that he sucks.

That would be Meidroth.

20 homers with a mediocre overall line (~.730 OPS) and an awful glove isn’t all that productive. Definitely not for $15 million a year.

50 homers 2024/25/26

cumulative 0.1 fWAR

Take him over Quero/Lee?

The Beni analysis in this thread is missing his xTAPE metric
