I wouldn’t mind if he didn’t elongate the stand in southside stand up. Just say it emphatically without saying STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND and I think it would work much better and be a lot less cringe.

Everything with him is forced. He's trying to hard I think because he knows he's disliked and lacks credibility with a lot of the fan base.

So you felt the need to expressyour opinion, that people shouldn't express their opinions. Cool. How about you relax? Better yet, get off my lawn

That’s gotta be hard as a broadcaster.

Absolutely, especially at this level. Everyone in this business has an ego, me included and when you've heard and read the things said about him by others in broadcasting, I don't care how much the Sox are paying him, it hurts and makes an impact.

I gotta be honest, he’s not my favorite even though I like him as a person. I just think he would be better off doing broadcasting maybe in a different role somewhere or a different sport. I just don’t think this is a good fit for him.

Unruined by “South Side Stand Up”

Great call tonight. Also on the Colson HR. Hard to hate the energy but misery can prevail here.

As someone that hated "Southside, staaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAND UP!" from its Spring Training debut, Schriff has grown on me, so I'm 50/50 on him staying or going.

CHSN should back a Brinks truck up and just lock Adam Amin in as primary Sox / Bulls PBP announcer and give him the permission to still call NFL games.

Gonna piss off a lot on here, but at least he’s made some of these catch phrases memorable. Our previous announcer didn’t.

There is a history of the White Sox on the Southside that dates back over 120 years. Back in 1906 (a year after Armor Park was built at 33rd and Shields ....(you know, where Ishbia wants to move a railyard)) the White Sox defeated the Cubs in game six of the World Series at Southside Park.

Schriffen appreciates that history and the tradition that the White Sox have on the Southside, and, to his credit, he has played into it. He also challenged Plesac about his favorite ballparks noting that Wrigley does not even rate with the better ballparks, and it doesn't. Place is a joke.

Schriffen much better judging home runs/fly outs from off the bat.

Schriffen is only good at judging SlamBall dunks.

Enron was memorable. The Titanic was memorable. John Wayne Gacy was memorable.

The best use of a Schriffen is American Ninja Warriors announcer. Let him get up there with his yeah buddys and out yell those two bozos.

I would unironically love listening to Schriff call Ninja Warrior, especially the original show.

being completely neutral about it, you also have to wonder if Schriffen thinks the juice is worth the squeeze with how he perceives he has been treated by media and fanbase. He started a lot of fires at the beginning which basically has resulted in him not being on local radio for spots much if at all. He has gotten better the last two seasons but the broadcast ratings are in the 20s after having some highly rated booths for a while. Schriffen has options and relationships with other leagues so him leaving and both sides mutually agreeing would not surprise me at all.

Regardless, this booth is probably going to be different in the next couple years. Stone is going to retire at some point, they have been rotating a lot of the same people in and out, they are showing us options. For a while this board was sure it was gonna be Gordon, now a lot of people are leaning Plesac. Wouldn’t surprise me if McGuffey gets a shot, I actually have appreciated him a lot more since he left the score, I like his host and between innings stuff a lot

To me, his broadcasting is fine. It’s when he tries to be Mr. Homer and go over the top with things that he’s just awful. So just stop doing that.

I say “fine,” meaning he is okay. He could learn a little more about the game and about the other teams and players; or at least share more during the broadcast.

I think that “fine” is an apt descriptor and it explains the 21st ranking

I sure hope so!!

I enjoy Schriff's calls for the White sox

I enjoy schriff's calls. I love the energy and the fact he's not a cookie cutter PBP guy in the mlb

Schiff didn't even know who Bill Veeck was or how to pronounce his name. You can enjoy him if you like, but stop making stuff up.

I like Guff but love the job he has now. Tbh I'm a bit agnostic only because when I'm out and about, I just put on the radio. Len and DJ are just so good. For me, Kaspar is a future HOFer as a radio broadcaster. It's people like him and Rooney that made me fall in love with the game.
